snow on branches from trees in winter landscape

Along the coast in Barrington RI after the storm hit. I'm a huge fan of the colors displayed at this time of year after snow hits.

Winter storm of March 14, 2017. East coast - Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York.

I was up all last night, prodding a hack attempt on some servers I maintain, and all night I could see freezing fog swirling in front of the IR-illuminated security cameras. I watched it accumulate on some of the trees, and when first light made itself felt, I got into the tracker and took off down some country roads. It was really fun to do; the area didn't look even the least bit familiar in the dim light, with some snow on the ground and the ice on the trees.

Yesterday (Monday) was a beautiful clear crisp winter's day; lovely light for taking photographs. Nothing but wind and rain today though.

An above freezing day causing snow melt evaporation to create a hazy sky.

Some where in Cz...

Early winter sun coming into the front living room window. It adds no warm inside or outside, since we are in a cold snap - keeping our temps in the low single digits to mid teens.

Winter storms are bringing some big waves to Monterey Bay.

Winter can be a chancy season to schedule weddings, but this one at the Boise Temple worked out nicely despite the snow on the ground! It had been hovering around 0F a few days earlier so we actually lucked out with the temperatures. And those perfect reflections! Beautiful.

The Peace Palace (Dutch: Vredespaleis), situated in The Hague, Netherlands, is often called the seat of international law because it houses the International Court of Justice (which is the principal judicial body of the United Nations), the Permanent Court of Arbitration, the Hague Academy of International Law, and the extensive Peace Palace Library.

In addition to hosting these institutions, the Palace is also a regular venue for special events in international policy and law.

Most of the snow has melted but there is plenty of ice around the Bridger Bay shoreline.

Defries Gardens is my favorite local garden to visit. I had never seen it in the Winter, so after this last snow, I went for a visit. I was a Winter wonderland!

The winter solstice occurs at the instant when the Sun's position in the sky is at its greatest angular distance on the other side of the equatorial plane as the observer. Depending on the shift of the calendar, the event of the Winter solstice occurs sometime between December 20 and 23 each year in the Northern hemisphere.

Hardly one second later the sun broke the horizon and this magnificent show of colors was gone. It is at this time of year the sky magically performs, and provides colors that might otherwise appear on a canvas. The trees almost look to be making room for the sun to burst like a ballon onto the horizon.

It never fails to amaze me the amount of colour, even in these drab winter months. The ferns were ablaze with orange and the mauve tips to the trees, stunning!

Are you guys sick of my kid yet? lol

We went to where I work for our little shoot today. It's strange that we have no actual snow yet. . . I am pretty sure we wont be having a white Christmas this year lol. Although I really home we get snow, and a lot of it.

Anyway, I hope everyone is enjoying their holidays :)

See ya around.
