I got this book in the mail today. I had my eye on it for a long time because the illustrations by Dorothy P. Lathrop were so lovely, the Sara Teasdale's simple and natural verses are just as charming. Since Ms. Teasdale copyrighted in 1930, I'll only post a few examples through the year.
“Snow-dust driven over the snow
In glittering light,
Low hills, far as the eye can go,
White on white;
Blue as a blue jay, shadows run
Due north from every tree --
Chipmunk, do you like the sun,
The blowing snow and me?”
“Stars To-night, verses new and old for boys and girls” by Sara Teasdale who copyrighted in 1930. Illustrated by Dorothy P. Lathrop. Published by The MacMillan Co of New York, 1946 edition. "For permission to set any of the poems to music, application should be made to the author." About 25 poems of various lengths, most accompanied by marvelous black and white illustrations on good quality paper. About 8 of the illustrations are full page with nothing on the back of the page.

I don't get outside nearly enough in the winter time. I was at my mother's today running errands for her and took a walk in her backyard. I need to get outside more often.

This Winter Wren is a rare bird for us, visiting usually in the late fall and through the winter in some deep canyons. Their rich reddish brown tones, stubby upright tail, and active behavior resemble very much another rare wren of winter -- the Pacific Wren. They are most easily separated by the sounds/calls they make.
One of my favourite winter shots.

I´d like to tell something about me. I´m 16 years old and I love the nature. Landscape photography is a passion. I love it!

From a recent winter engagement session in Prince George British Columbia. We have always wanted to photograph a dancer, so were very excited when Jaclyn said she wanted to use her Pointe Shoes in their engagement session. We had an awesome time and can't wait for their wedding this summer.
You can see more photos from their engagement session on our Northern Pixel Photography Blog
Winter without winter is a phrase that can have several meanings. It can be a metaphorical expression that describes a situation where it is cold outside, but there is no snow or frost. It can also mean a period that is associated with winter, but is actually mild and warm. In a figurative sense, it can be a period in a person's life that is associated with sadness, loneliness, or loss, but is not associated with physical cold.
The snow was deeper than expected, so we looked for excuses to take breaks during our hike.
Too deep for hiking, not deep enough consistently for snowshoes.
