Been so long since i've been on here but were back! Focus and I have missed Flickr so much and it has changed a lot since we've last been on. I bought a new camera a few weeks ago, Nikon D5100 and I love it! We won't be on here everyday like we used to for I now have my own place with my boyfriend and busy hussling bussling job. A lot has changed since last time I spoke with any of you on here but it has most deffineatly changed for the better. :) Living the good like with my love and two baby dogs, Focus & Brutus.
There is one good thing about winter months. These beautiful red holly berries growing on the wild Yaupon Trees/Bushes behind our house.
Hand held after coffee at ISO 100 on a rainy day doesn't make for the sharpest image in the world.

I took the shortcut through the woods today.
It was cold and there was a layer of ice underneath every inch of snow. I had my cleat-soled overboots on, knowing that the way would be slippery. I went out walking because I could and it's been too dang long since I took a walk outdoors. This winter has been a doozy.
Last night, I noted that the weather forecast for the rest of the week would not be good for a trek outdoors. Today, it may have been in the single digits for temperature, but there was no wind. That's a first for quite a while. The winds have been terrible this season. So, I figured I could handle the cold, and I did. I still haven't found a good pair of gloves that keep my hands warm.
Taking this short cut has me on a very narrow path that borders a drainage ditch. If I fell, it would be about a four foot drop. With my ice-cleats on, and my trekking poles in hand, I felt confident that I could traverse without a fall. Seeing all the boot-prints of those who passed before me also was a good sign. I made it, and was soon back in my warm car.
It was a good day for a walk.
The sun hidden above the clouds and barren trees trying to peak its way out. Winter 2015 captured on the odd, low iso film known as Kodak Low Speed 2254. Hand-rolled by The FPP, the film is designed for lab duplication under LED lighting and will yield an odd hue in daylight.

The warmth of this sunset breaking through a clearing storm falls over a rural landscape plowed and ready for spring. Similar conditions in autumn three years ago with the same solitary oak.
