Rough seas at Hartlepool Headland! The waves were rolling in and crashing up against the sea wall, sending the surf high into the air and spilling over the wall, very close to these people braving the dangerous elements. We saw some of the earlier observers get drenched by the spray and they made a hasty retreat! We kept a safe distance off!
The wind turbines in the distance are just off the coast near Redcar and are owned by EDF Energy Renewables.
Many thanks to all who take the time to view, comment or fav my images.

Winter night
Had a good bit of wind and clouds reflecting a bit of light. Experimented with a long exposure capturing some motion in the trees.
Another image taken at Padley Gorge on Sunday when the gloom allowed me to use a 15 second shutter speed and the wind in the trees created a blur of autumn colours.
It's called Wind Ridge for a reason. It was howling up here and difficult to remain standing upright. That's Pigeon Mountain on the left and the diagonal trail is Skogan Pass.
When I get back off this mountain, you can find me on Twitter
we’re having extreme weather in parts of california. wind gusts up to 65 mph. some of the photos of downed trees destroying houses and cars look like a hurricane hit us. the rivers and streams are overflowing with persistent rainfall and flooding parts of major hi ways and roads. we have another full week ahead of more strong wind and rain. lives have sadly been lost.
Watching the Wind weather says we may have some strong storms coming our way, so far it has just been warm with some rain and clouds shot in North Carolina.

The view from Dream Lake looking up Tyndall Creek to the jagged edge of Flattop Mountain (r) and Hallett Peak (l) on a beautiful winter's day. Wind is the norm in the Front Range in the winter. The high winds create sculpted snow lines called sastrugi which form parallel to the predominant wind direction. Moment’s Notice and I were christening our new snowshoes on this walk, happy as much for the crampons on the bottom as the effective spread of our weight on the snow.
Heute musste ein Spaziergang sein, damit die Gans und der fette Braten nicht auf dumme Gedanken kommt und an mir hängen bleibt!
A beautiful day for a walk. Went into town and walked along the River Clyde and came across this cherry blossom blowing in the wind.
The pair of Denver - Laurel manifests are the only regular trains left through the canyon on BNSF's Casper sub. Maybe an extra Casper train thrown in a few times per week. Boils down to about 30 mins per 24 hours theres actually a train here, thus this is a first for my many trips through here.

I'm no wave expert, but two wave patterns seemed to be happening at once in the lake when I took this.
The winds were blowing basically left-to-right, and they seemed to be the source of the ephemeral blue waves on top.
The lake currents (it's basically a wide part of a river) were flowing right-to-left at the same time, and those waves are the steely-gray waves below the blue ones.
If you know wave behavior, I'd love to hear what you think about this.
