My brother saw a wild turkey in a tree the other day. He and a friend were talking and they looked up and said, "What is that?" It was a wild turkey. They fly short distances and I saw one go from the ground onto the top of a 12 ft. fence, no problem. He was up and over the fence before I could blink. I was yelling at him, "Hold on, I want to take your picture." And, even though he wouldn't "hold on," this is the picture I took.
Wild irises growing on a coastal trail at Cape Ferrelo (just north of Brookings on the Oregon coast).
I'm not a wildflower expert by any means. I think this is a Wild Geranium, photographed last week in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. I picked up the 5th edition of the Great Smoky Mountains Wildflowers book, very helpful. If interested, ISBN is 9780964341739. Canon 6D and Canon 100mm f/2.8 lens.

Trial Harbour on Tasmania's west coast. Wild old day with plenty of weather coming off the Southern Ocean.
Trial Harbour is at the northern end of Ocean Beach - as seen in my previous posting. Nothing between here and the coast of Argentina...
Makes the thermos of tea all the more rewarding :-)

I have discovered that the gizmo that allows me to download pics from my memory card is just not working any more! Looks like it might be a while before you can see pics of France, cos my phone doesn't want to play either!!

The wispy seed heads of the Pasque Flower are attractive in their own right.
[...], another common name for Pasque flower (or "Pasqueflower") is "Easter flower." Pasque is the Old French spelling for "Easter," and it is around that time of year that the plant blooms, in some regions. According to Botanical.com, the famous herbalist, John Gerard, "informs us that he himself was 'moved to name' this the Pasque Flower, or Easter Flower, because of the time of its appearance, it being in bloom from April to June."

Have a wonderful Thursday and thank you so much for your visit.
Challenging me. This yard is barely big enough for both of us. :-) We have managed to keep them off the deck and out of the bird feeders. Living in the wild now instead of begging for suet. This one lives in the hickory tree. That's like living in the grocery store. They're insulating their nests and storing supplies.
Wild tongue tasting the air
Covered in the wetness, it finds there
Moving up, down, side to side
Caressing the breeze, it does ride
Coated in the wetness, that it finds there
Wild tongue tasting the invisible air
Reaching up amongst the grasses .... wild flowers :o)
