Yet another shot of the unskinned WiFi antenna, this time standing up. It's pointing away from us. The open area towards us will be covered with paper, and then aluminum foil.

Here's a photo of the unskinned antenna with all of the ribs in place. It looks like a dome at this point because the dish is pointing straight into the table.

Diplomverleihung WIFI Steiermark

After working like a charm for a couple days, my laptop (borrowed from work) suddenly rejected the ethernet connection in our room, and (after extensive consult from resort staff) for the rest of our sojourn I could only access the net via wifi, which I picked up at the north end of the Skybar. Yet this too was a flaky proposition at best, with the wifi network disappearing mysteriously for no apparent reason after an arbitrary period of time. This prevented my participation in a webinar I really wanted to check out on the subject of contemplative neuroscience.

Anyway, I kind of liked this green table and chair set. I wish I'd taken a photo of the interior of the Skybar. It was a pretty cute imitation of a swank urban club.

This is the inside of the wifi detector.

by chance I got on one of 4 flights SouthWest is testing for WiFi :)
