Taking off or landing at Laguardia always offers wonderful sights of New York City landmarks, assuming it is not foggy or rainy. Taking off from runway 4 can give you a nice view of the last two bridges over the East River, the Throgs Neck and Whitestone Bridges, afterwards paralleling the Long Island Sound shore of Westchester county

The view from Whitestone Park, New York. This was a 6 seconds shot. Canon 40D, with 17-40mm lens. ND 0.6 filter was used and a narrow aperture f/18 was used to get the star effect on the lights.

Whitestone Bridge is a suspension bridge in New York City that crosses the East River and connects the boroughs of Queens on Long Island. The bridge was designed by Othmar Ammann and opened to traffic with four lanes on April 29, 1939.
