Ice collects at Hell Gate, where the East River and Harlem River connect. The Triboro Bridge and Hell Gate Bridge are in the foreground. The Throgs Neck and Whitestone Bridges are in the background.
Today's image is an exercise in minimalism: the Bronx-Whitestone Bridge, the East River, and some clouds. The composition is rather simple, but I'm still diggin' it.
5 minute long exposure.
Whitestone Bridge & New York City From Throgs Neck Bridge As Snowstorm Began Winter 2024 - IMRAN®
I captured this fleeting image from the rear seat of a limousine being driven home to Long Island after a speech on artificial intelligence and innovation in New Jersey late on December 4, 2024.
We were about to cross Throgs Neck Bridge as I watched Whitestone Bridge and the New York City skyline in the distance. It was frigid and windy as snow was starting. So it wasn’t very tempting to roll down the window for a better picture.

Different edit from version I posted awhile ago. I posted one last night that I had to take down because it wasn't complete. It was missing the last 10 or 20 seconds for some reason. So, I've posted it again.

"Experience is never limited, and it is never complete; it is an immense sensibility, a kind of huge spider-web of the finest silken threads suspended in the chamber of consciousness, and catching every air-borne particle in its tissue."

Almost at JFK at this point. Just another shot from the back seat of the Ford Transit Connect yellow cab. In the background already some airport hotels (Sheraton and Hilton Garden Inn here).
The Whitestone Bridge is a suspension bridge in New York City that crosses the East River and connects the boroughs of Queens on Long Island and The Bronx via Interstate 678. The bridge was designed by Othmar Ammann and opened to traffic with four lanes on April 29, 1939

Revising this mosaic, because I realized I had a Whitestone set that was shot on an overcast day like all the rest, so the tones would be more consistent.
A peaceful night on the East River from Francis Lewis Park. The Whitestone Bridge carries I-678 across the east River from Whitestone in Queens to the Throggs Neck neighborhood in the Bronx.
