Location: connecting Whitestone, Queens and Throgs Neck, The Bronx

Carry: 6 road lanes of Interstate 678 (the pedestrian walkways were removed in 1943)

Type: Suspension Bridge

Opened: 29 April 1939

Average daily traffic volumes (2008): 117,000

Note: The New York State Metropolitan Transit Authority recently restored the classic lines of the bridge by uninstalling the 14-foot high trusses on either side that had been used to stiffen the bridge

Shot on the way to JFK. Definitely over processed and filtered, but still a cool concept. This is what I can do with a crappy photo.

- camera = i forget but if I had to guess...I'd say this was photographed with my Sony F-717 (which I still have as of November 2025).

A walk in the South Bronx on 09.19.15 from Randall's Island foot bridge ending underneath the Whitestone Bridge in the Bronx, covering 20 miles.
