White Point Beach Resort, Nova Scotia. I almost ruined my $50 tripod during this trip, slamming it in the water and filling it with sand. This was shot with my new Hoya ND8.

i floated and floated waiting for a perfectly still moment for a reflection. this is as close as i could get

As the sun rises, the world is slowly waking up. Still early for some. The ocean seems calm, who knows what's going on underneath the surface, and a new day begins yet again.

there were a lot of fishing boats just off-shore

Late evening is the best time for architecture - reflections and shadows are everywhere. Aperture helps a lot - the control of whitepoint and gradation is simply outstanding.

at the interpretive center at White Point Nature Preserve, visitors can learn about Japanese American abalone divers and farmers who worked at White Point, San Pedro prior to World War II.

Took these at the beach yesterday, testing out my new Nikon D850 paired with my new 35mm f/1.4G. I used NiSi CPL filter, along with NiSi ND and soft grad filters.

If you wait a minute in Nova Scotia---the weather will change---THEY SAY!!!

The view from the meeting room.

My beloved cat, Bobby, may he rest in peace. Old photo scanned from negative.

Visit to the White Point Nature Preserve in San Pedro, California on Saturday October 24, 2015. This is part of the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy. I will identify the wildlife and birds I got pictures of as well. Also see the former Nike Missile launch pads from the Cold War.

Irish Rail 2601/04, at Whitepoint, Cobh, Cork, 03rd June 2013.

Another Cape Breton shot. I had to leave the Cabot Trail on a back road to see this place. The road was quite rough, but there was no traffic except a farm truck that pulled over to let me pass. While I was taking this photo, a torrential rain ensued, so before climbing back on my bike, I dressed for the weather. A little while later, in the driving rain, I missed my connection with the Cabot Trail, and accidentally head up toward Bay St. Lawrence. It was a beautiful accident, as the scenery was breathtaking but it was raining hard, so I got no photos.

White Point is a small fishing community in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia, located in Victoria County .

Reached the final estination, our weeks rental was just over the far hill.

From the only road in or out of this happening metropolis. I wish we actually could have stayed and explored a bit, but it was still raining, and we were still very wet from our hike up Meat Cove Mountain. Also it was nearing lunch, and they didn't have a resteraunt. So it was on to Neils Harbour.

31/07/2020 15W actinic trap: Pyecombe, near Brighton

My first post-lockdown visit to my son and family near Brighton. For mothing and nocturnal quiet, I camped again at Chantry Farm – a site to be recommended to anyone with a taste for simple camping (and moths) www.chantryfarm.org/

Another windy night, with a bright moon and a trap sited the wrong side of a hedge, but nevertheless a few good moths.

This moth used to be a fairly infrequent visitor from mainland Europe to southern counties, but is now established as a regular breeding species, accounting for a notable increase in its distribution (+ 158% 1980-2016).

I thought this was the superficially similar Clay, so only took this dismal image, but it may be a long time before I see another White-point, so for now it must stand.
