This is a postprocessed pic (black- and whitepoint, contrast etc.).
After not posting any new photos to my Flickr account for more than 6 weeks ths is a start. A result of the time to sort and rate more than 10.000 pictures I took on my 24 days trip to the US.
As I have changed my attitude towards postprocessing after some good instructors working with my on me skills in the US, I am trying my first steps in Photoshop and Capture NX2 (local adjustments). I am at the very beginning of my learning curve, so I ask you to be patient with me, please :-)
I appreciate your comments if you have specific ideas you'd like to point out to me for postprocessing.

Panorma stitched with Hugin and further adjusted with Gimp. I must have gotten exposure-lock out of sync with my picture taking. Idiot!
Update
I went back to each individual image and adjusted the brightness until the RGB values for corresponding points matched and then restitched them together with Hugin and croped and did some adjustment with Picasa. I could sure have saved myself a lot of bother by doing it right in the first place.

G and I went down to San Pedro today hoping for some good tide pools and a nice sunset. Alas, the tide was up and the skies were pretty boring. We did walk around a bit, though, and past one of the points on the beach, we found these really cool strips of rock rising from the sand that looked like dinosaur vertebrae! With some patience, G also spotted a bunch of crabs and a black sea star.

How to achieve quick and simple results in Photoshop to counter the underwater blues.
- Open image and apply "Auto levels"
- Use "Underwater action" - underwater.atn. Can be found on the internet
- Select own whitepoint
- Sharpen edges under the sharpen menu.
