When the Sun shines in Šolta, no colors are to be seen, only bright light, and contours of the little islands.

Islands: Balkun (the biggest one), behind is Rudula and Grmej and Stipanska.

When you are in a plane and have no access to a camera, you make the best use of your phone. That is exactly what happened here. Looking out the airplane window, I saw this cloud and the sun. I took few photos with my iPhone out of the plane windows so I can stitch them into a panorama.

When they talk about pearls, I guess these aren't the ones ladies have in mind... but they sure would want them as reflective eh?

When photographing birds, I try to get a profile shot so the shape of the beak can be seen; even more so with a bird like this Rose-Breasted Grosbeak. Her enormous bill is quite imposing, but I liked this head on shot for a different look. Her expression seemed so sweet.

We may have discovered the portal to that place where bad girls go when they... umm... are bad. ♥

When standing on Johnston's Ridge it's sometimes tough to take your eyes off of the maw that is the North face of Mount Saint Helens, I mean you are really looking down its throat from there, what David was thinking I'll never know. However, if you can tear your eyes away and look to the West the view is spectacular as well, especially just before sunrise with the pink super moon looking, well, pink. :)

On FB my nephew wrote on this and said that I take phenomenal photo's to which I replied that a better photographer would have raised the ISO and got a faster shutter speed to get details in the moon, I didn't even think of it at the time.... :) oh well, next time.

When I find a flower that is in the midst of blooming, I find myself overwhelmed by the sheer beauty of what I see before me. It seems as if all extraneous noise disappears. I am one with the flower.

When I took this shot of a Short Eared Owl I didn't see the photographer in the back ground DSC_5645-HDR-2-1-CR

When I photographed this event three years ago, this shot was overlooked because the background was so busy with boat shed, docks and boat that the action was not well seen. Now, with extra time on my hands and better processing skills to clear the distracting background, the action is clear. That was one lucky trout and an unlucky Osprey.

When the male returned to the nest to relieve the female he brought a twig. He placed it on the nest and then maneuvered around where she could get up. He was a little above her. He lowered his head and touched his beak to hers.

The blue hour in Manarola is truly blue. Almost all the tourists are gone. Only hungry photographers stay at the wind to catch the moment when the city come to sleep.

I was by the lake for sunset yesterday evening, and got some quite nice pictures as the sun went down, and some reflections in the calm water.. When I thought it was all over I started to drive home, when I caught a glimpse of the fire in the sky. I considered driving back to try to catch this reflected in the water -- but guessed I would be too late. So we have to make do with this.
