When I stood up this morning, there was a dense fog laying all over my hometown. Unfortunately it had cleared already, until I was ready to go and the real fog was gone. Only in the valleys, there was some mist left, the sun did bring to glow here and there.
So I was roaming around for almost two hours and tried to catch that special light. From light island to light island, deeper and deeper into the woods.
I was able to create two or three photographs with a pleasing composition and even if the results are not what I was hoping for, I again enjoyed the time in the nature very much. And this is, what it's all about in the end.
Als ich heute früh aufgestanden bin, lag ein dichter Nebel über meinem Heimatort. Bis ich allerdings fertig war, hatte es schon aufgeklart und der richtige Nebel war verschwunden. Lediglich in den Tälern war noch etwas Dunst übrig, den die Sonne dann an manchen Stellen wunderschön zum Leuchten gebracht hat.
So bin ich dann fast zwei Stunden herumgestreift und habe versucht dieses besondere Licht einzufangen. Von Lichtinsel zu Lichtinsel immer tiefer in den Wald hinein.
Zwei, drei Bilder mit einer ansprechenden Komposition sind mir dann auch gelungen, und auch wenn die Ergebnisse nicht das waren, worauf ich gehofft hatte, so habe ich die Zeit in der Natur wieder einmal sehr genossen. Und darum geht es doch am Ende.

The strong winds are bringing the heavy rain down Danby Dale from Danby Head in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, England. Luckily for once I was not out walking as visibility on the top was only a few yards.
This is the east side of the dale looking towards Botton village at Dale head
Botton is a small village within Danby Dale which is mainly a Camphill Community founded in 1955 for people with learning disabilities

A symphony of blue, sea sky and clouds . The showers were charging across the channel as I stood and just celebrated my luck at being there on such a great day. When I was blue is a great track by Georgia Ruth.
The disagreeable weather might tell you otherwise, but the birds make no mistake: it is spring! The tiny Wren is up and at it, and both males and females sing.

winter nights above the Arctic Circle are often blessed with appearances of Aurora Borealis which seem to be competing with those bright nights us humans create to beat the darkness.
When the skies perform and the tide is good I just wander along the breaking waves looking for good reflections. The beauty is that whichever direction you look there are great opportunities. This is looking up channel away from the setting sun, and has a beautiful sense of calm . I'm so lucky to have this wonderful playground. Last night there was a camera club on the beach, so it was very busy. Keep on moving is my usual approach, and is by Bob Marley and the Wailers.
I wanted to photograph a surrealist outfit and looked into art museums. TP took me to this piano in a garden. I was trying to pose when he landed on the piano. I was irritated, he calmly said he was waiting for the end of the photos to take his place at the piano. Since that day we took several pictures at the piano listening to classical music.

When I'm hiking through the beautiful landscapes of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains I always have an eye on trees with a special stature ore on special places. Some of them brought it to quite some fame already. This pine tree here, on mt. Alter Wildenstein, I saw for the first time. The tree is bowing down to that wonderful view. I couldn't help but follow its example.
Wenn ich durch die wunderschöne Landschaft des Elbsandsteingebirges wandere halte ich auch immer Ausschau nach Bäumen mit besonderem Wuchs oder an besonderen Standorten. Einige von ihnen haben es bereits zu einiger Berühmtheit gebracht. Diese Kiefer hier, auf dem Alten Wildenstein habe ich allerdings bisher noch nie gesehen. Der Baum verbeugt sich vor diesem wundervollen Anblick. Ich konnte nicht anders als seinem Beispiel zu folgen.
