When you get older, plainer, saner
When you remember all the danger we came from
Burning like embers, falling, tender
Long before the days of no surrender
Years ago and well you know.....
winter nights above the Arctic Circle are often blessed with appearances of Aurora Borealis which seem to be competing with those bright nights us humans create to beat the darkness.
When I saw this, I knew I had to capture it - the challenge was the wind. I stayed here no less than 15 minutes waiting and trying. Once I have something in my head, I can't let it go.....

When the world is a monster
Bad to swallow you whole
Kick the clay that holds the teeth in
Throw your trolls out the door
If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant :-)

The strong winds are bringing the heavy rain down Danby Dale from Danby Head in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, England. Luckily for once I was not out walking as visibility on the top was only a few yards.
This is the east side of the dale looking towards Botton village at Dale head
Botton is a small village within Danby Dale which is mainly a Camphill Community founded in 1955 for people with learning disabilities
I am in love with texture these days :)
Hope you don't get bored!
There are quite more to come :)
Explored.
When that day came, I didn’t allow other people to dictate how I should feel or act. I learned there was no shame in imperfection because history had shown being different had the power to change perspectives and eventually the world. This is when I realized that flaws had responsibility. This was the day that I learned I was truly BLESSED.”

When I took this photo there was a tour bus that had just arrived... Crowds of eager sightseers speaking in a foreign language were just about to destroy the peace and quietness that I was experiencing. I guess its only fair to share this beautiful spot with others.

(My best friend and traveling companion- and very old fashioned- we didn't meet on line!!)
When Yuki gets groomed they add a scarf around her neck to come home with. We were just fooling around a bit. She plays the part of a bandit quite well.
When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound in fear
of what my life and my children's lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things who do not tax their lives with forethought of grief.
I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars waiting with their light. For a time I rest in the grace of the world,
and am free.-Wendell Berry
...when we were working the land to obtain the best fruits. Now the sun beats down mercilessly, and this climate has nothing, absolutely nothing human... and even our eyes are dehydrated!
...
MI MANCANO QUEI GIORNI...
quando lavoravamo la terra per ottenere i frutti migliori. Adesso il sole picchia senza pietà, e questo clima non ha nulla, assolutamente nulla di umano... e anche i nostri occhi sono disidratati!
After the sunset, the sky gave a nice warm glow to contrast against these old fence posts.

When we were in Orkney and Shetland I saw these guys for the very first time, for real. Fell in love with them!!

When seeing this, I was jumping up and down. Just kidding! Couldn't be happier, I must say
NZ has a plan to eradicate it, as it's an invasive plant, which is all over the place.
When the moon is full on a winter night in the mountains, you can easily hike without a flashlight. Musala Peak, 2925 meters.
Observing Acorn Woodpeckers always reminds me of the adage "with friends like these, who needs enemies." As they live in a unique extended communal groups, it's a safe bet that these two are of the same group if not related genetically. Despite this connection, they are very aggressive towards one another. The exception is when a different species of bird gets to close, then they work together like a well oiled military unit to beat the snot out of the interloper. Despite their aggression (perhaps because of it) they are my favorite birds.

when you are this beautiful! I grabbed a second shot of this beauty of it's rear quarter clip while I was in my normal on my butt position
The disagreeable weather might tell you otherwise, but the birds make no mistake: it is spring! The tiny Wren is up and at it, and both males and females sing.

When I sighted this one it instantly flew off. I slowly followed. After a few more fly offs and follows, it stopped and appeared to size me up. After determining I was a tad too large to eat, it bobbed its head a few times and disappeared into the thick woods.

When I stopped admiring the source of the Rhine and looked behind me, I saw these protected Alpine beauties, the large (5 - 20cm) Alpine asters! Not just one, but a whole bunch. I had to climb higher on a steep slope, but I absolutely wanted a good shot of them.
When the first morning sunlight resolves slowly the morning mist in the marshlands. About ten minutes later all the mist was gone. Unfortunately the capture doesn't contain all the chattering and quacking of the birds on this morning ☺️.

I wanted to photograph a surrealist outfit and looked into art museums. TP took me to this piano in a garden. I was trying to pose when he landed on the piano. I was irritated, he calmly said he was waiting for the end of the photos to take his place at the piano. Since that day we took several pictures at the piano listening to classical music.
