When the male returned to the nest to relieve the female he brought a twig. He placed it on the nest and then maneuvered around where she could get up. He was a little above her. He lowered his head and touched his beak to hers.
Have a great weekend.
The blue hour in Manarola is truly blue. Almost all the tourists are gone. Only hungry photographers stay at the wind to catch the moment when the city come to sleep.
An another HDR photo from wonderful Liguria, Cinque Terre, Manarola. Zenith MC Zenitar-C Canon 16 mm F/2.8 Fisheye lens.
Thank you for all the comments and favs, my friends.
When nature takes over, man gets lost in its presence, becomes small and feels like an infinitesimal part of the whole.

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

I was by the lake for sunset yesterday evening, and got some quite nice pictures as the sun went down, and some reflections in the calm water.. When I thought it was all over I started to drive home, when I caught a glimpse of the fire in the sky. I considered driving back to try to catch this reflected in the water -- but guessed I would be too late. So we have to make do with this.

When you go here on a beautiful day you are left thinking about how gorgeous the place is but go here when the weather is more grumpy and it takes on a whole different perspective.
When our friends suggested a trek through Cliff Gilker Park, we set out on a new adventure. It was a marvellous walk, and an opportunity to see an area new to us. During our adventure I took plenty of preliminary, recon shots with my phone, to record areas of interest. I would later return with my camera and equipment to then take the shots I wanted with the time necessary to set up.
The next number of photos will be from this wonderful place. It is deep with old growth trees, meanders through a maze of delight, and makes one stop to just look. This shot includes one of the few bridges that cross various gorges, and serves as a metaphor that "bridges" the old with this new journey.

When traveling around Arizona nearing the end of the pandemic, much of Navajo Land was still forbidden to enter. In order to see Monument Valley we had to stay at The View. This was taken from our balcony. Best view we could have had.
When I went along with my daughter on a senior photoshoot, I saw a small cemetery across the street. I wandered over and took a couple shots. When I uploaded, I was surprised to see the cat...didn't remember seeing one...then I realized it was just shadows...or was it? Happy almost Halloween! There are more to follow.....

Mommy comforts when son is sad, While on vacation in Sedona, he ordered a special dish for dinner and when it arrived it was nothing like he expected. So, he ended up eating my hamburger and fries!
DESCRIPTION:
When we take a picture during a sunset , usually we are attracted by the bright colors we see in the west and rarely point the camera in the opposite direction, towards the east. Yet, if the condition are favorable (clear and transparent sky ) the show we would see would be just as beautiful. This photo, taken by Acireale, a city of Sicily located on a hill overlooking the Ionian Sea , wants to be a testimony. The color element that dominates and characterizes it is the pink band extended for about 20 degrees above the horizon, known as “ the belt of Venus”.
The belt of Venus is an atmospheric phenomenon due to backscattering of the red sunlight at sunset by the particles of the atmosphere that are on the opposite side of the sun.
Near the horizon, due to the shadow projected by the Earth, the belt progressively decreases in brightness and color until it disappears completely.
The phenomenon lasts a few minutes and is visible even at down, just before sunrise.
Black Sea, beach and Caucasian mountains on the horizon. Чёрное море, пляж и Кавказский хребет на горизонте.

When you drive the Klondike Highway, starting in the Yukon, Canada and heading south towards Skagway, in Alaska, you have to stop every few miles to take in the scenery. You witness a constant medley of woodland, lakes and mountains.
When gardening, this one was accidentally cut. So, I picked it but didn't want to put it in the bin.
I took this photo last month; you won't believe- it's still in my room. Don't say my room must be very messy
When we returned home after two weeks in Alaska we discovered that the local Phainopeplas had become very accustomed to the bird baths while we were gone (I have a neighbor keep them full). They almost certainly liked the almost human-free conditions over those two weeks, and I set up a little perch right after returning home to try to capture one coming to the water. This male obliged.

When there's no one else, look inside yourself
Like your oldest friend, just trust the voice within
Then you'll find the strength that will guide your way
If you will learn to begin to trust the voice within
