We've had some pretty great sunsets lately in the Sierra foothills, and last night's was especially nice. This view is across the Central Valley to the Coast Range.
Blended from three images.
From a beautiful Saturday which seems so long ago now. When winter existed in the mountains and I was at peace in the snow.
When looking at the activity on this sunflower, all I could think of was a clock & the bees are the numbers;):). I love all the interesting insects attracted to a sunflower:). VIEW ON BLACK if you have the time:):)....
When you go decide a beach location for your vacations you usually want sunny weather to lay on the beach and enjoy the sun. Even if I love that, I really enjoyed the first couple of vacation days at Sitges, when the weather was not that good and the only thing to do was to walk, and enjoy the sea views.
The name of the photograph has been taken from a piece of one of the best groups I've known in recent years, Bliss. A warm muted trumpet and smooth textured sounds behind wrap you and I thought this photograph pretty much reflects my feelings about the song.
When I visit my brother in Cornwall I always look forward to seeing wildlife that I don't see at home. So, on my latest visit early June I excitedly when looking but , alas, I didn't see anything new but I'm still most pleased with this photo of a Speckled Wood all the same!
Have a fab weekend dudes and dudettes!

I realised quickly when I knew I should.
that the world was made for this
brotherhood of man
for whatever that means
and so I cry sometimes when I'm lying in bed
just to get it all out, what's in my head
and I, I am feeling a little peculiar
and so I wake in the morning and I step
outside and I take deep breath
and I get real high
and I scream from the top of my lungs
What's goin' on? ... (other old song of Linda Perry)
when I was a kid I loved to help my mother hang our laundry on the clothesline that was strung from our porch to a pole in the back of the yard. I still have a thing for clothespins and love it when I run across the occasional clothesline in some stranger's backyard with their unmentionables flapping in the breeze :)
When the purple sandpipers weren't playing ball by sitting on rocks completely inaccessbile to anyone without a boat there was quite a large flock of turnstones to keep me entertained :)
When I see these spiders in the garden I love to have fun with them and observe their behavior,
On this one I put pine needle in the center to get it down,
At one time all it legs were in motion taking the pine needle up and down, amazing agility!
Have a great weekend my friends!!! Will go out tonight to watch Karate Kid, I'll check your stream once I get back.
Thanks for your visit, comments, and faves!
Snaps out our car window as we drove out of Las Vegas on Friday morning to get to LAX. Never would I have ever thought Vegas would close in my lifetime.
When mom was off hunting I was able to capture her chicks boy were they cute. I've never been this close to a Golden Eagle nest in my life. Truly the most thrilling moment.
When ever I need someone to turn to i know you will always be there for me. my best friend my ally. you have been there for me at my worst, my best, my everything. i don't know where i would be without you by my side. because you can understand me better then anyone else. i can never ask for a better person to be by me on the long run.
When we were in Pilanesberg at the centre the Yellow Hornbill also sat around waiting for any crumbs of food.
We are staying the night at Hartbeespoort and the internet is pretty good - catch up after dinner at The Spur - best steaks I have ever tasted. Tomorrow we head to Marloth Park and Kruger.
When I arrived at Mt. Tabor park to photograph the sunset, this is the first thing I saw. It was absolutely amazing.

Update: I cropped out all the dark clouds from the top half of the picture, which makes it look a lot better now, I think.

So let's pretend I haven't been absent from flickr for 4 months.
My creativity has been non existent and I just took a break for a while. I just needed to find new inspiration. This photos is loosely based on Rue's death in The Hunger Games. The vibrant greens and the dark luminous mood reflects the serenity of her death.

When we understand that man is the only animal who must create meaning, who must open a wedge into neutral nature, we already understand the essence of love. Love is the problem of an animal who must find life, create a dialogue with nature in order to experience his own being.

Christmas is still living with my colleague and doing quite well!
When my father mows the lawn, he leaves some of the marguerites alive which gives me the opportunity to take pictures like this one which I had in my mind for a longer time. Most of the marguerites are equally high, but fortunately there was one that was standing out from the crowd which enabled me to get this nice painterly marguerite bokeh. Hope you like it!
