When I read this challenge I hoped immediately to find a tiny snail. I was lucky to find this small snail in the lettuce. After the photo session I put it in the garden for freedom and grow.

When I got back to field camp at Manyberries for my second stint of field work, I found out that I had been dubbed with the nickname "Sunset". I don't understand why. =))
When the blue hour started it was very colourfull at one of my favourite photography spots in Arnhem..... A colourfull sky and some lights on the bridge....

ENG: When you look up through the stairwell in the Detlev Rohwedder House, you almost stumble upon history. The massive complex on Wilhelmstraße has always been a seat of power: it was built in 1936 as the Reich Aviation Ministry for Hermann Göring. During the GDR era, the building was called the “House of Ministries,” where the 1953 popular uprising took its course. Later, the Treuhandanstalt moved in; its head, Detlev Rohwedder—who was assassinated in 1991 and after whom the building is named—was based here. Since 1999, the Federal Ministry of Finance has been headquartered here. Where financial policy is made today, monumental architecture meets decades of pivotal moments in German history. In other words, today’s “DRH” Federal Ministry of Finance. So it’s definitely worth looking up—both architecturally and historically.

GER: Wenn man von unten nach oben durch das Treppenauge im Detlev-Rohwedder-Haus schaut, stolpert man fast über die Geschichte. Der riesige Komplex in der Wilhelmstraße war schon immer ein Ort der Macht: 1936 wurde er als Reichsluftfahrtministerium für Hermann Göring hochgezogen. Zu DDR-Zeiten hieß das Gebäude „Haus der Ministerien“, in dem 1953 der Volksaufstand seinen Lauf nahm. Später zog die Treuhandanstalt hier ein, deren Chef Detlev Rohwedder 1991 ermordet wurde und dem das Haus seinen heutigen Namen verdankt. Seit 1999 hat das Bundesfinanzministerium hier seinen Sitz. Wo heute Finanzpolitik gemacht wird, treffen monumentale Architektur und Jahrzehnte voller deutscher Wendepunkte aufeinander. Also das heutige „DRH“ Bundesministerium der Finanzen. Ein Blick nach oben lohnt sich also – sowohl architektonisch als auch historisch.

Osaka Castle, Japan
Osaka Castle is a very impressive structure that is situated in the Osaka Castle Park and is surrounded by a sizeable moat. I visited this castle post-sunset on Monday evening having opted to shoot the nearby little building that is The Sanctuary.
On walking around the moat and into the grounds via the drawbridge, the size of the park becomes very apparent. I personally loved the trees that offered some interest in the image when photographing the castle and the inclusion of the street lights added an extra dimension. I loved the castle and found there to be numerous compositions on offer. I shall definitely be bringing my clients along to this location on my April 2024 Japan photography workshop.
For those interested, Osaka Castle was originally completed in 1586 as a display of power and grandeur by the samurai warlord and ruler of Japan, Toyotomi Hideyoshi after accomplishing his goal of unifying Japan. When you are in a rush to get upto Scales Moor on the flanks of the mighty Whernside, it does not help when you have to keep stopping to take in the sublime Yorkshire Dales countryside en route and a beautiful and long lasting omnipresent pink cast .

when the sun is shining, it's fun to photograph against the light in the city. this creates exciting silhouettes
When I first visited Lisbon the city still had buildings where house wives did the laundry together (by hand). Since then Portugal joined the EU and enjoyed some improved prosperity. But it seems that some people in the traditional working-class neighbourhood Alfama still stick to the old ways. I hope it is out of tradition or because of social contacts, not out of poverty.
Final beauty of fall, coming to it's end. Taking backroads home from KHPN, highway lately getting congested, but this drive is alway destressing of days events, also no crazy drivers
