This is a deck I worked on last year. While I was prepping to start laying down the wood of the deck, the ironworkers were making the final welds on the frame. I took the time to snap a couple of pictures.

Madeline's very first weld ever. Aside from the splatter, caused I am told by too low a temperature, the tack weld she layed out looks pretty good. But what do I know? I literally no squat about welding. So I could teach her everything I know and give her this odd and twisted skill set. Presumably mostly just 'wrong,' but with bits of near genius here and there.

Heather was in Mendocino for the Weekend. On saturday I worked on the

recumbant. It is supposed to look more or less like this:

Oopsie! While welding the top hinge to the back of the upper seat frame brace I neglected to drill a vent hole in the sealed brace tube. Expansion of trapped air caused a blowout while I was welding on the hinge. I'm going to leave it there to remind me not to make the same mistake again!
