Snowtime in Germany, even in the Rhineland area, where snow is very rare. I took this picture a few days before and thougt, perhaps I would be able to get a better one to show you. A better one means in my sense, an action shot of course. This is an area in which I will progress in 2013. Unfortunately the last days we had such a flat light with dark grey snowy sky, that the camera turned the Auto-ISO to incredible 12.800 to generate a shutter speed of 1/1600 sec. And I could't find the right white balance, too. *grumble*
So I decided to present this one, which shows Hugo in perfect trained shape in "our fields" at the river.
Have a nice sunday, my friends, In these minutes it starts snowing again and we will go out with the kids - and Hugo.
Playing basketball is one of the things I do to keep an active lifestyle... need practice on my shooting, though!
For the Metal theme at 52 of 2014. We've been hanging pictures at the new place so I happened to have a pile of nails! Eight second exposure. Explored!
☆ Pledge Week 2
Sunshine, sisterhood, and Sigma Xi Psi 🌸So grateful for the amazing bonds I’m forming with my line sisters and big sisters during rush week! ✨ The assignments are fun, the company is even better, and there’s no place I’d rather unwind than by the pool!!
I love the weather at the moment. I like it when the colour of the sky turns into a cloudy but bright white, there is many wind but no rain. I often call this "Irish weather" ;-)

based on his/her own interpretation of these lyrics :
"Come gather around people
Wherever you roam
And admit that the waters
Around you have grown
And accept it that soon
You'll be drenched to the bone
And if your breath to you is worth saving
Then you better start swimming or you'll sink like a stone
For the times they are a-changing
Come writers and critics
Who prophesize with your pen
And keep your eyes wide
The chance won't come again
And don't speak too soon
For the wheel's still in spin
And there's no telling who that it's naming
For the loser now will be later to win
Cause the times they are a-changing
Come senators, congressmen
Please heed the call
Don't stand in the doorway
Don't block up the hall
For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
There's the battle outside raging
It'll soon shake your windows and rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changing
Come mothers and fathers
Throughout the land
And don't criticize
What you can't understand
Your sons and your daughters
Are beyond your command
Your old road is rapidly aging
Please get out of the new one if you can't lend your hand
Cause the times they are a-changing
The line it is drawn
The curse it is cast
The slowest now
Will later be fast
As the present now
Will later be past
The order is rapidly fading
And the first one now will later be last
Cause the times they are a-changing"

I came to this location because only a small stretch of the road is paved, but you can't really see that with the snow. :)

I want this year to be an opportunity to be more present and aware of the privileged life I'm fortunate to live. 2019 was a year that often kept me in low places, and I continually found myself beneath a weight of burdens that I let tie themselves to me rather than let them pass over me.
To that goal, my partner suggested journaling to me. To write down the things that I struggle with. Write down the things I'm grateful for. Write down the things that are important to me.
My photography goals in 2020 mirror that of my mental health goals. I want to feel more open to being creative, and I want to be less selective about what I share. I want to spend less time under the weight of being perfect, or better than the last shot. I'm not built for that grind.
I scanned through the first journal entry I wrote in my new journal and came across the phrase "I want to be happy."
I wanted to share that piece of my journal without revealing all of my other sensitive things I'm writing about, so I thought it would be a good opportunity to embrace my photography goals as well.
I want to be happy. I want the people around to me to be happy and healthy as well.
Here's to a happy 2020.

I don't normally do selfies, but here's an Instax double exposure selfie I did specially for 'Roid Week – my favourite time of year on Flickr!
For the rest of the year, if you want to see what I'm up to, the place to go is my Twitter, where I mainly tweet about my books & books in general, but also try to put up a Polaroid a day...

Featuring five days of hot rods and one-of-a-kind creations of all models, colors and horsepower, Graffiti week is expected to draw about 20,000 participants and spectators over its five-day span. Cars must hail from 1965 or earlier, and there will be parades, exhibits, cruises and show 'n shine events all over town for a week.
and in an instant,
I had my life back
on monday and tuesday I had my last exams. and there I was, on april 20, 12 o’clock, done with my a-levels. I can’t describe how I felt. it was over. the exams I have been afraid of for years, the ones I studied for like crazy, over over over. the weather was amazing and we sat in the park until 8pm and we had the best time. and on wednesday we spent time there again because two of my friends were finished then, too. and I slept. I slept really good for the first time in weeks. on thursday I spent my time with Nina and we stayed up until 3am although there was no exam we had to study for. we stayed up late because we wanted to. and on friday the people who took an exam in spanish were done too, so we spent another day in the park and on saturday we had a big party in a club and on sunday I did nothing. I was busy all the time but I had the best week. and my a-levels are over. finally.
in contrast to my week, this photo was a pain in the ass. I had it all pictured in my head, but the photos didn’t come out the way I wanted them to, so I took them again. and again. I used different locations and different clothes and different times of the day, but I was just not satisfied. they didn’t express my week in the best way. so I had pictures from three shootings, but they didn’t fit. after I had taken the pictures for week thirty, I took some other ones for about 10 minutes and when I had a look at them, I knew that one of them must be the picture for week thirty one. so here it is, different from what I imagined, but the perfect picture for my week.
I posted pictures from the other shoots in the comments. :) there is also a collage of some other ones that won’t mean anything to you, so you can just ignore them, but I want them to be here for when I look back on my project in the future.

In Japan, there is a big holiday season in the late of April and the beginning of May. It's called 'Golden Week'.
*Explored #487 on May 5, 2015. Thank you!
couple more images from my last trip to north wales. going back in two days for another 10 days plus :) a few multi stitch images from Tan-yr-allt, and images from Betws-y-Coed but i so wish id bought my tripod with me so i could used my 10 stop, but going back for a a hole day out over the next few weeks so really looking forward to it, i did not want to use iso any higher than 100 due to my cameras rubbish on anything higher than base iso so i under exposed the river shots and brightened in post to reduce noise. these will be the only river shots i post until i head back :) stll got 5500 plus images still to sort through from my last two trips to wales the last month, plus 10 days around rhyl, and two weeks in llangollen, think my camera will need a break after all that shooting :)

For this week's topic I chose to work with oxymorons, a combination of contradictory words.

I was due to take this view on my extensively photographic trip down to Devon & Cornwall last week, however due to cloud and the threat of heavy rain, that plan was aborted, but worked perfectly this time around.

Mijn wekelijkse Amare-corvee zit er weer op.
We gaan rustig door. Elke week weer, ook al is er aan de buitenkant nog maar weinig nieuws te zien.

20 of 52 Weeks of Milo
Are you terrified of my menacing boy?
Mr. Milo just loves to lie on his back all the time, just hoping to get a belly rub.
This was taken on Vance Creek Bridge in WA. I spent the first 15 minutes practically on all fours, terrified of getting vertigo and falling off the bridge. Over time, as I tried to set up the shot that I wanted, the fear faded and I spent the last 15 minutes running back and forth from the camera to check the composition of the photos.
Another week of bad weather and no inspiration!
Well thats a lie, i have so many ideas! but the weather isn't permitting them or my Model isn't available, and these i don't want to be self's!
So i was playing around. I got this old Bible in a Charity shop for £1.50, but its beautiful, pearlised cover and the note with the date in side (as i said before, i have a lot of junk!)
I don't feel this is one of my bests, but i also know i probably won't do much shooting over the weekend! I sound lazy!
But yeah, see you next week, have a good one people!
I had gone with a friend to Lake Wenatchee, near Chelan in Washington, to start my 52 Weeks Project. This photo does not show that the day was, in fact, quite sunny. There was also a school field trip happening, so close to shore there was a pack of elementary school kids confused by the random woman wearing a purple dress on a cold day and staring at nothing in the water.
