I decided to be brave and go into the forest despite the raging hoards of mosquitoes. I was definitely a sight to see, swatting them off while my grey card while tripping over roots, an adventure I dare say. Probably will try this again soon.

Anywho, enough of my ramblings..happy friday eer'body (:

52:2017 - Bob Dylan - the times they are a changin'

Everybody is free to create an image

based on his/her own interpretation of these lyrics :

"Come gather around people

Wherever you roam

And admit that the waters

Around you have grown

And accept it that soon

You'll be drenched to the bone

And if your breath to you is worth saving

Then you better start swimming or you'll sink like a stone

For the times they are a-changing

Come writers and critics

Who prophesize with your pen

And keep your eyes wide

The chance won't come again

And don't speak too soon

For the wheel's still in spin

And there's no telling who that it's naming

For the loser now will be later to win

Cause the times they are a-changing

Come senators, congressmen

Please heed the call

Don't stand in the doorway

Don't block up the hall

For he that gets hurt

Will be he who has stalled

There's the battle outside raging

It'll soon shake your windows and rattle your walls

For the times they are a-changing

Come mothers and fathers

Throughout the land

And don't criticize

What you can't understand

Your sons and your daughters

Are beyond your command

Your old road is rapidly aging

Please get out of the new one if you can't lend your hand

Cause the times they are a-changing

The line it is drawn

The curse it is cast

The slowest now

Will later be fast

As the present now

Will later be past

The order is rapidly fading

And the first one now will later be last

Cause the times they are a-changing"

I came to this location because only a small stretch of the road is paved, but you can't really see that with the snow. :)

52 Weeks of Pix 2012 - Week 7: [Alto and Bass Clarinet] Love

[This photo is for C. London's 52 Weeks of Photography Challenge - www.clondon.me/blog/52weeks0]

I want this year to be an opportunity to be more present and aware of the privileged life I'm fortunate to live. 2019 was a year that often kept me in low places, and I continually found myself beneath a weight of burdens that I let tie themselves to me rather than let them pass over me.

To that goal, my partner suggested journaling to me. To write down the things that I struggle with. Write down the things I'm grateful for. Write down the things that are important to me.

My photography goals in 2020 mirror that of my mental health goals. I want to feel more open to being creative, and I want to be less selective about what I share. I want to spend less time under the weight of being perfect, or better than the last shot. I'm not built for that grind.

I scanned through the first journal entry I wrote in my new journal and came across the phrase "I want to be happy."

I wanted to share that piece of my journal without revealing all of my other sensitive things I'm writing about, so I thought it would be a good opportunity to embrace my photography goals as well.

I want to be happy. I want the people around to me to be happy and healthy as well.

Here's to a happy 2020.

Polaroid Week Spring 2018 - Day 6 - Picture 2

SOOC :) no need to edit that sunset :)

There has been a lot of blue in my project this year. Honestly, this week it's because I didn't plan and I was looking for some textures to use later and this wall stuck out. I'll try to be more intentional next week.

when I took this photo, i was just soo hot that gah, no words.

I have had such an overwhelming amount of support in my photography ahhh, I love every single one of you. Thank you all soo much, I really appreciate you all.

I am posting this 52 weeks pretty early in the week (well early for me) since i will be busy over the weekend with a wedding to attend! But hopefully, I will have some time to take photos!

and in an instant,

I had my life back

on monday and tuesday I had my last exams. and there I was, on april 20, 12 o’clock, done with my a-levels. I can’t describe how I felt. it was over. the exams I have been afraid of for years, the ones I studied for like crazy, over over over. the weather was amazing and we sat in the park until 8pm and we had the best time. and on wednesday we spent time there again because two of my friends were finished then, too. and I slept. I slept really good for the first time in weeks. on thursday I spent my time with Nina and we stayed up until 3am although there was no exam we had to study for. we stayed up late because we wanted to. and on friday the people who took an exam in spanish were done too, so we spent another day in the park and on saturday we had a big party in a club and on sunday I did nothing. I was busy all the time but I had the best week. and my a-levels are over. finally.

please view large

in contrast to my week, this photo was a pain in the ass. I had it all pictured in my head, but the photos didn’t come out the way I wanted them to, so I took them again. and again. I used different locations and different clothes and different times of the day, but I was just not satisfied. they didn’t express my week in the best way. so I had pictures from three shootings, but they didn’t fit. after I had taken the pictures for week thirty, I took some other ones for about 10 minutes and when I had a look at them, I knew that one of them must be the picture for week thirty one. so here it is, different from what I imagined, but the perfect picture for my week.

I posted pictures from the other shoots in the comments. :) there is also a collage of some other ones that won’t mean anything to you, so you can just ignore them, but I want them to be here for when I look back on my project in the future.

52 Week Challenge, number 4. My niece.

Kind of a quiet week with my girl. She is not interested in her food but will eat what we are eating. She seems comfortable enough thanks to the Librela injection. We took her to the beach yesterday as it was a beautiful day here. I was trying for a nice shot of Della by the reflections in the little pond behind the beach. I didn’t get what I was hoping for but I am putting up the photo of what I did get at that location in the first comments box.

I went with my almost silhouette shot from our little walk by the beach. Our silhouette shots are not as fun and wild as they used to be. Jumping for frisbees is not in the beach time actives anymore. However just a short walk along the shore can be very nice too. There was no fooling around with the colors in this photo, that was really what it looked like!

We took bloodwork on Della yesterday as she has been so sedate lately. I fear her kidney issues might be catching up with her.

YES that is real live FOG!! at 6:30 in the morning.

it is so nice not having to blur my backgrounds anymore. my camera does it for me :)

more in comments!

i also still haven't put the film up from 2 weeks ago so hopefully I'll get around to that this weekend!

THIS, is my happiness. Out geocaching with Mel the other day, after being cooped up for many months due to a foot surgery, this was one of the happiest days I've had in a long time. When I asked her what she thought my top 3 favorite things were that made me happy, she answered without hesitation, GeoCaching, wine, and my dogs. And she was right!!

Another week of bad weather and no inspiration!

Well thats a lie, i have so many ideas! but the weather isn't permitting them or my Model isn't available, and these i don't want to be self's!

So i was playing around. I got this old Bible in a Charity shop for £1.50, but its beautiful, pearlised cover and the note with the date in side (as i said before, i have a lot of junk!)

I don't feel this is one of my bests, but i also know i probably won't do much shooting over the weekend! I sound lazy!

But yeah, see you next week, have a good one people!

Taken on one of my daily runs to get my allocated time outside to exercise

I had gone with a friend to Lake Wenatchee, near Chelan in Washington, to start my 52 Weeks Project. This photo does not show that the day was, in fact, quite sunny. There was also a school field trip happening, so close to shore there was a pack of elementary school kids confused by the random woman wearing a purple dress on a cold day and staring at nothing in the water.

The feeling at the end of the week, knowing there's no work the next day, is pretty awesome. Before a long weekend, it's even better.

This photo is a reminder of how good we have it here in Florida: that's directed at those of us that live here because it's easy to forget.

Living along the coast, you develop a sense of normalcy about living where others vacation. So it's good to get away for some perspective and then come back. It's human nature; nothing lasts forever, even that feeling at the start of a long weekend.

A Bittern in flight ??

Welcome to Day 6 of Technique Week! Yes, I am aware that I am posting this on day 8, but hey, better late than never.

Today's technique is a circle! :D Specifically one using curved 4x4x2 quarter round fences. First, stack a 1x2 plate on top of a 1x2 plate with 2 vertical clips, then a 1x2 cheese slope on top of that. Do that 20 times and attach all of those to the bars of the curved fence pieces to form a 20-sided shape, which is pretty much a circle. To make the circle taller, you don't need more fence pieces; you just need to replace the 1x2 plates with longer plates. You will need more cheese slopes though.

I think this may have applications for sci-fi, especially large sci-fi, and seeing as SHIPtember isn't too far off, this may prove useful soon...

If you're interested in similar techniques, check out Halhi's well technique, which works by using a minifigure life saver and 1x1 plates with horizontal clips. You can also adapt that technique to get a slightly larger circle using technic steering wheels.

Day 7 is coming soon!
