Today, there was a Kite Festival at Chippewa Park. The weather was beautiful for kite flying. I was surprised to see someone standing in the water as it feels like it is still too cold to be in the water.

52 in 2023 Challenge - Week 23 Hard
This carved column is huge, and is in the Victoria and Albert Museum.
Firstly it is stone/marble, so it's hard, but how hard must it have been to have carved this column, that was at least 50 feet tall. And then how hard was it to transport it from where ever and then get it inside the museum.

Week #23 ~ Long Exposure
Had a few ideas for this week's challenge but in the end went to the seafront last night - very little movement in the sea and hardly any clouds :/ Lots of clouds about tonight, of course :), c'est la vie!
west nab
Another busy week, this time working in Kenya (where unfortunately they don't have any trig points). I ended up getting stranded in Doha, Qatar as the Middle East went into diplomatic meltdown and the amount of airspace open to Qatar Airlines got smaller and smaller...
The rains lashed down on Saturday, but Sunday was bright and squally with some very strong winds. Perfect weather for being blown about on the moors. So we headed over to Wessenden to remove a few cobwebs.
This the trig point at West Nab, the rocky summit of Meltham Moor. Behind me is Wessenden Moor (on the right) and Black Hill (on the left). The Pennine Way crosses in the dip behind the trig point.

Week No. 23: Blue (Primary Colors 2)

This is just a marble (a clear cats eye with a blue detail) on a wooden table. The table and the marble have picked up the coloring of a blue fence the background. I like how the marble just seems to be floating on water or something very un-tablelike.
For 7 Days of Shooting, featuring “Macro Monday”. The theme all week will be "The Dark Side".
Hmmmm . . . a dark macro. Is that an oxymoron? My solution to this puzzle was to stay indoors and light a room with only a small bedroom night light situated close to the subject.
Today, my wife and I took Lewis to the small village where my wife was brought up as a young child. It was so nice to get out in the countryside and take Lewis to a place he hadn't visited, before!

This afternoon she got lots of attention of a little girl, about 2 - 3 years old, and she loved it :) Of course I forgot to shoot a video of it :(

Collage Play With Crowabout- Week 23. I blogged this on blueridgelady.blogspot.com/
Live and learn! I decided only after glueing the face on that it should be green like the body of the bird, I tried to color it in but the imprint of the birds head showed up....when I tried to erase a little it took the shading out......doggonnit!! I may try and fix if I can later!
it's too hot for any good shots... sorry ;(
but at least i'm on time again ;)
done for this week's theme: round & round (23/52).
The small town of Largs is a lovely place to visit and we did that the other week. There are regular ferries going back and forth to Great Cumbrae and I managed to get a shot of this ferry just before it departed

Some of our favorite hiking trails will be closing for several months to allow a low concrete bridge across the creek (the gray line at top) to be replaced. The new bridge will no longer restrict water flow, allowing the stream bed to return to a natural course. The dogs and I spent some time today hopping along these magic rocks which somehow always have biscuits scattered along the top. It will be a while til we get back to see how the stream flow changes around the rocks but somehow I think the biscuits will make their way back eventually.
