A bronze statue of a horse that my sister gave me after her trip to Greece. I took this shot a week ago before the theme, but it seemed like a perfect match for the shadow part of the theme.

I did try to recreate the scene, but I just couldn't recapture the sun at the right angle, sometimes photos are all about capturing the right moment in time.

I know its getting colder in Brisbane when you wake up to wet grass each morning. It's so pretty when you get up close to this mini world of grass and water drops.

We are not really a very seasonal city, we may start the winter mornings in jumpers and socks, but more than likely we'll be in short sleeves by lunch time.

Morning at Jumbo Pass in the Purcell mountains of BC, Canada. The light at dawn in December is magical as we head out for another day of skiing in the deep snow.

While it's similar, it's still in a jar... Homemade canned coleslaw - for those days I'm either too busy or just feeling lazy. Easy to make, super convenient and tastes great!

According to Wikipedia 'Poke' is a raw sallad served as an appetizer in Hawaiian cuisine. Pokē is the Hawaiian verb for "section" or "to slice or cut". Ahi poke is made with yellowfin tuna.

A possible submission for Assignment 3, Week 23 for Take A Class With Dave and Dave.

Low Key. The opposite of High Key, this image will use darkness and shadow to stress the subject. The few light areas will caryy great weight in these images. We're building on Dave's Dark theme, but now technically and not philosophically.

I've done shots of this type in the past and I really like this style of photography. With the right lighting you can convey a lot of emotion that you can't in a regular snapshot (or at least that is how I feel about it).

i am in love with my new location. it's like, a 5 minute walk from school and it's right next to a lake. plus, it's not invaded by people.

school has been pretty good. i'm still getting used to everything and i actually miss home sometimes. but i love this place and i'm so happy to be here.

Handmade ornament

This was a century old tugboat that sunk in the river. The city was going to try to preserve the tugboat and keep it on display however the costs were to high and now it is being dismantle and recycled.

When you get really close up on a flower while using a macro lens, you see so much more. It's amazing. I put the setting on 1:1 but it went to about 1:4 as I focused. The funny thing is that I finally found one that didn't have ants all over it, and when I looked on the computer, I saw the flying bug (I don't like bugs, LOL) down in the right corner. I don't know what kind it is, but it's got big eyes..👀

J'ai pris cette photo la semaine passée pendant une marche en montagne dans les Alpes françaises. Le printemps est là, et pour le mois de mai, il y avait encore beaucoup de neige, l'hiver n'était pas encore parti. Les crocus (Crocus Vernus) poussent dans la neige.

I took this picture last week during a walk in the mountains in the French Alps. Spring is here, and for the month of May, there was still plenty of snow, the winter was not yet gone. The crocus (Crocus Vernus) grow in the snow.
