With the announcement by the Canadian Soccer League in October 2010 that Erin Mills Soccer Club was approved to join the league for the 2011 season with a new men’s professional soccer team, the wheels were put in motion for the creation of the Mississauga Eagles FC.
EMSC President Susan Rossiter said. “With the visionary direction and leadership provided by both the CSL and Erin Mills Soccer Club, I am encouraged that Mississauga FC will quickly become a winning addition to the vibrant sports and entertainment industry in Mississauga, while providing the youth of our community with the top level training and development programs essential for Canada to compete successfully at the international level.” The launch of Mississauga FC is an important building block in transforming Erin Mills Soccer Club into a dominating force within the Canadian soccer industry by enabling EMSC to redesign the club using the academy-based business model of top European clubs.
Last year, it had 13 teams and for 2011 the league has expanded to add 3 new teams for the 2011 season, Montreal, Ottawa and Erin Mills.
“The Mississauga FC represent the model organization for the future of the CSL. With a clear pathway for skilled athletes and an emphasis on player development, the CSL expects its member clubs to be the focal point of its soccer community, establishing a Centre of Excellence in their region.
The results of EMSC's focus on player development are showing. In 2010, EMSC teams won a total of 6 Ontario Indoor Cup Championships during the winter, 4 Ontario Cup Championships during the summer and the club's U17 girls team was the Silver Medalist at the U18 National Championships!
The launch of the Mississauga FC fills a market opportunity for a professional soccer team in Mississauga, one of Canada's largest and most vibrant communities. It also adds a valuable building block for EMSC towards realizing its vision of becoming the number one community and competitive soccer club in Canada. As part of its commitment to the ongoing development of its youth membership, recreational and competitive soccer players at EMSC will now benefit from being mentored by high-performance professional soccer players including the opportunity of having visits from Mississauga Eagles players to team practices where they will work with team members on basic and advanced level skills development.

During the 1950’s the rail industry as a whole started to look more seriously at dieselisation as the future form of motive power. English Electric made several prototypes for British Railways to test and evaluate and several designs were put into production for everyday service.
No. D0226 was on prototype made for shunting and transfer work between yards and/or stations but the design was flawed, the engine being too powerful for usual shunting duties and not versatile enough for any other useful work.
The engine was placed on permanent loan to the KWVR by English Electric in 1966 and has been found to be a most useful engine for the line. As the line has a 25 mph maximum speed limit, many of the limitations found in British Railways service are eliminated. The 500 hp power rating means it can deal with our works-trains at a speed that does not hamper passenger services working in the opposite path. The engine is capable of standing in on passenger services in the event of a steam engine failure in traffic. All in all, this engine has found a niche in Preservation which it never found before.
In 2014 D0226 had its greatest passenger triumph when it was one of the two diesel locomotives used to haul the downhill leg of the intensive two train operation that brought spectators to the Worth Valley during the Tour de France in July of that year.

Washington Hall, 521-525 S. 4th Street, a six story structure which opened in 1896, was one of the largest buildings in the area during the immigrant period. Its hall was open for rental to radicals and socialists. From 1907 until 1917, it was called New Academy Hall and from 1917 until 1919 it was known as Majestic Hall. At the time, there was great competition in the newspaper market between New York Yiddish papers and their small Philadelphia counterparts. In 1945 the Forman family purchased the property and other contiguous properties, creating the Foremost Meat Factory. From then, until its closing in 1977, kosher meats were sold. In 1979-1980, the property was subdivided into seven to twelve properties. Peter DeFeo reassembled three of the properties in 1982 into what is known as The Foremost by year 2000.
From their website--Started by a previously indentured servant, James Wilson, way back in 1819, a trained painter and glazier, founded William M. Wilson's Sons on old Philadelphia's "Merchant's Row." For a century, this small company, named in honor of the founder's father, specialized in painting, glazing, and wholesale distributing.
In the early 1900s, Wilson's Sons became a steel drum distributor, and added petroleum dispensing equipment in the early 1920s. In 1928, they manufactured their first pump, adopting the Gasboy brand name. Their development of the first combination pump and tank package for farms in the 1930s, was the beginning of a company history of innovative solutions designed to meet the unique needs of their customers.
During the 40's, 50's and 60's, Wilson's Sons has continued to be the industry leader in the development and advancement of petroleum dispensing products. The first continuous flow hand pump, the first compact electric pump designed for consumers, the first direct drive transfer pump, the first automatic fuel management system, and the first integrated POS system are just a few of the many innovative products designed to meet the changing needs of the market.

Finally made a website! I decided to use 22Slides, and things are pretty easy to work with.
