On June 18, 2008, my four year old, Jimmy fell into the Little Miami River. I jumped in to get him and the current got me too, and I grabbed onto a branch as my daughter Sydney stood on the bank and cried and screamed. I thought at that point that my beautiful little boy had died. I yelled for Sydney to run to the road for help and she did and flagged down Dan Dorff (Jimmy is sitting on his shoulders). Dan risked his life (and did what I couldn't do) and pulled Jimmy out of the river, called 911 and gave Jimmy, who was not breathing CPR saving his life. Officer Kyle Biblehausen was first on the scene and aided Dan with CPR and drove my daughter and I to Children's Hospital as Jimmy was being Air-Cared. Jimmy is very happy and healthy today and I owe it to all three heros in this picture.

I cannot find a webpage on Shy Wolf Sanctuary's netsite in regards to this new resident. So I'm giving the information as I remember it - forgive me and correct me if you have better information.

As my memory serves, this gorgeous creature was once the "property" of someone who thought it would be a good idea to have a bobcat for a pet. He put it in a very small enclosure without any toys or companionship and left it to be. There was not enough room to romp and no toys to play with - therefore his muscle tone is now virtually non-existant. He recently came to Shy Wolf. Nancy is working with him - playing with a "teaser stick" and building up his muscle tone and trust. I'm sure he will come around and one day be happy and strong under the care of Nancy and the volunteers at Shy Wolf.
