I got another tattoo. This one is a blue lotus with the leaves curling down. There are many reasons I got it, but here is a webpage that kind of details a lot of the symbolism behind the lotus. Mine is blue because I wanted to tie in Egyptian mythology (one of my favorite topics) with some of the other symbolic references. Some of those are death & rebirth, faithfulness, ever bending but hard to break, purity. It's a beautiful flower in itself, and honestly, this photo doesn't do the tattoo or the artist that did it on me justice!

Interesting Facts:

Construction of Cologne Cathedral began in 1248 and took, with interruptions, until 1880 to complete.

It is visited by 20 thousand people every day

The cathedral is one of the world's largest churches and the largest Gothic church in Northern Europe.

For four years, 1880-84, it was the tallest structure in the world, until the completion of the Washington Monument.

On August 25, 2007, the cathedral received a new stained glass in the south transept window. With 113 square metres of glass, the window was created by the German artist Gerhard Richter. It is composed of 11,500 identically sized pieces of coloured glass resembling pixels, randomly arranged by computer, which create a colorful "carpet". Since the loss of the original window in World War II, the space had been temporarily filled with plain glass. The archbishop of the cathedral, Joachim Cardinal Meisner, who had preferred a figurative depiction of 20th-century Catholic martyrs for the window, did not attend the unveiling

Different team and different setting.

The perimeter of the field for this location is a mix of residential, commercial, and school outbuildings so I was VERY limited at finding a spot to have a neutral/clutter less background. So to achieve this I had to tun my subject into the sun. I never like to do this. I didn't like the chain link fence but had to run with it. I found one tiny spot with trees. I used a strobe with a diffuser at camera left to fill in the harsh shadow. Due to the high winds, I could not place anything between the subject and the sun. I was lucky on a lot of the shots and got some good captures before the wind took over their hair. I had to weight down both the camera and tripod as well as the strobe and light stand.

Worst days to shot = sunny windy days!

Revamped the sales page on my website - tried to make the navigation easier. Still needs tweaking but it's good for now. Next I want to add a scrolling "to Top" button for the longer pages. I know it's simple but I like simple.

I have a chrome book , for some reason I can’t screenshot; although here is a link to see a rough draft of my fashion line webpage . This is a video I posted on my webpage.

The Universal Ship Cancellation Society (USCS) is an international philatelic organization founded in 1932 promoting the study of the history of ships, their postal markings and postal documentation of events involving the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Merchant Marine, and other Navy and maritime organizations of the world.

Collectors may be interested in the ship, its postmark, the cachet that occasionally appears on the envelope, special markings used by the ship or postal service, and, of course, the stamp. Collectors also focus on specific ports, countries, actions, types of ships, activities, special markings (such as censor's marks or air mail markings) and other information.

The USCS is offering a special one-year $10 new membership offer. New members will receive the monthly award winning 32-page USCS Log with great articles on naval/maritime history featuring covers & photos along with other benefits. www.uscs.org/join-uscs/

You can find the Society's webpage at www.uscs.org, and the Facebook page at www.facebook.com/groups/uscsnavalcovers/ .
