Kelowna, BC - MindRight for Athletes Society ('MindRight') and HeadCheck Health ("HeadCheck") today announced a new partnership to advance athlete health and wellness by making MindRight's resources and peer-to-peer support available through HeadCheck's mobile app and web-based software platform.
"I believe we have helpful resources available for youth and need to support them to get help if they need it," said Myles Mattila, Project Developer and Spokesperson for MindRight.
Myles Mattila, currently a junior hockey player with the Kelowna Chiefs and business student at Okanagan College, developed MindRight after being inspired by the story of late Vancouver Canuck Rick Rypien. Myles thought of a friend who struggled with his mental health and developed MindRight to educate athletes, coaches, parents, and supporters about their mental health and the health of others. MindRight aims to provide information about available local resources, and help players make connections with the services they might need. MindRight will work within the community to help reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness.

LEESBURG, Va. -- The eCYBERMISSION 2012-13 National Judging and Educational
Event kicked off as 16 national finalist teams arrived June 17. The annual
NJ&EE brings together students from across the country and Department of
Defense Educational Activity schools to compete in the science, technology,
engineering and mathematics competition for the title of first-place
national winner in their grade.
During the week-long event they will also have the chance to participate in
workshops and activities designed for America's next generation of STEM
leaders, said Louie Lopez, eCYBERMISSION program manager for the U.S. Army.

A team from Heidelberg Middle School won $8,000 in U.S. EE Savings Bonds by taking a regional award in this year’s national eCYBERMISSION competition.
eCYBERMISSION is a U.S. Army-sponsored, free, Web-based science, math and technology competition that allows students in grades six through nine to compete for regional and national awards while working to solve problems in their communities.
The team earned a criteria award, which includes a certificate of recognition from the U.S. Army and a $2,000 U.S. EE Savings Bond per student.
The “Piezoelectric Power” team was comprised of Heidelberg Middle School seventh graders Morgan Billmaier, Henry Dickson, Kyler Koester and Eric Ferraro, and led by Team Advisor Kina Billmaier-Stallings. The team received an Application of Science, Math and Technology award for its investigation into alternative energy sources to power different types of electrical and battery operated devices. In the future, the team hopes to further its research and find a way to wirelessly transfer energy produced by fabric.
In the past seven years, Heidelberg Middle School has won $201,000 in U.S. EE Savings Bonds by students competing in eCYBERMISSION.

iOSDevCamp (previously know as iPhoneDevCamp and iPadDevCamp) is an annual not-for-profit gathering to develop applications for iOS, including iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, using both the native SDK and web standards. To date, our all-volunteer group has produced the following events:

The event was initially inspired by BarCamp, SuperHappyDevHouse, and MacHack, to develop Cocoa Touch and web based applications for iPhone and iPod touch. Out-of-town guests are always welcome.
Attendees include iOS developers, web developers, UI designers, entrepreneurs and testers, all working together over the weekend. Development projects include both solo and team efforts. While some attendees wish to work solo during the event, we encourage attendees to team up, based on expertise, to work in ad-hoc project development teams. All attendees should be prepared to work on a development project during the event.
