This is Sami and his mum Kathy. She and I talked halfway through the graduation ceremony (well, it was really boring).
This is LdM’s photo lab, where all of the photography classes are held. The room is equipped with a photo printer, Mac computers, Adobe programs, a projector, and many camera accessories. The photography classes are 5.5 hours long, with a 30 minutes break in the middle for lunch or dinner depending on the time of your session. Students can come to the lab when there are no classes to work on projects or use the tools provided.
Down the road from this lab is the photo studio in another LdM building. During class time students may use the studio or various locations around Florence to take pictures.
Pictures are due every week on the school’s server. What is really helpful about this particular class is that we edit our photos during class time. If we want to make an adjustment but don’t know how to in the program, the professor is there to show us. Often, if someone has a question or runs into a problem, he shows the whole class how to fix it on the projector. I personally feel like this is effective because if you already know the answer, you can use this time to continue working. However, if it’s something new to you, you can always look forward to see how to use the new tools and adjustments in the programs.

Northwest Neighbors For Peace hosted a presentation by Jack Nelson-Pallmeyer entitled "Where Peace & Environment Meet," Our friends from www.livingfree.org sent us the video of that presentation, which we edited into something that would fit on our half-hour show. This presentation is startling in two respects:
First, it cites the top NASA climate scientist as saying that we have 10 years to SOLVE global warming, (not ten years to decide whether to do anything) or there will be irreversible changes that will lead to the hottest global temperatures in millions of years, and the die-off of 50% of the species on earth. Heavy stuff from the top guy at NASA, a fellow the Bush administration keeps trying to silence, but who apparently won't shut up. As Jack Nelson-Pallmeyer puts it, the danger is that we won't run out of oil soon enough to save the planet! But he points out that we are "fortunate" to live in the most pivotal moment in human history, that we still have time (well, 10 years), and it IS quite possible to do.
The second set of startling points emerges when he quantifies what it will take to do something about it. He calculates the cost, in dollars, for saving the environment and making every community on earth "livable." Clean water, adaquate food, security, healthcare, family planning, etc etc etc for every community on earth are things which we can put a price tag on. He tells us on this show what the price is, and points out that the combined annual cost for saving the planet and making every community livable is only a fraction of the cost of waging the Iraq war, is less than the tax-cuts for the rich, and way less than the subsidies given to the world's fossil fuel companies each year. Any one of those three things costs more than saving humanity and the planet we call "home."
In some ways, this episode of "Indymedia Presents" puts the 246 previous episodes in context. Well worth watching.

Went to Natalie's in the morning and planned stuff for prom. Nothing really worked so I just ended up having lunch there. I went to my uncle's for his surprise birthday party. He was so happy.
Then Chirstina and Myke treated me to hookah for my birthday. Ivy came over and we edited the script and it was fun.
So today I went hiking at John Chestnut park. I was just messing around with my manual settings and took this shot. My mom and I together did the editing. This is the finished product... This is how she wanted it. So for my mother... Here is new memory for us. The first time we edited a picture together!
Ps. My mom is not a camera person nor is she an artsy person. I'm very proud of how we did this. It looks to me like a faded memory or a flash back of another time.

The flow from my workspace formerly known as the diningroom doesn't work, I look forward to going out into the patio but hate coming back into the workspace.
This photo is one of the photos where we edited the color composition of photos that were taken. I still very much enjoy the photo because I feel like it really pulls together the colors of my dog very well. I upped the brightness and saturation of the photo, while also blurring some of the background to really focus on him more. I believe this picture is very artistic because it takes into account so many rules of photography as well as lighting.
When taking the photo, I really had to keep the lighting into account. I wanted to illuminate areas of my dog, but not the entirety of my dog. I really think how I played with the lighting shows well in this photo because it makes his one eye that is in the light so much more capturing to the viewer.
I also found the texture of his fur in this picture to be very illuminating through this image, which adds pattern and depth to the photo overall. When capturing an animal, it can be very hard to get them to sit still. I wanted to showcase his shaggy coat, which required working with him to stay perfectly still. However, I did not like how the back of his body turned out so I did slight alterations that blurred them out, which then brings the eye back up to his face and the coloring on his head and the pattern of fur on his chest.
The color alterations really allowed for this image to pop as well in my opinion. The brown hues within his coat look more vibrant and alive compared to the greys and the blacks within the fur. I also enhanced the shadows within the photo, which helped to hide one eye but I also believe it hid his eye that is in the light, which was a miscalculation on my part and does ruin the picture in small ways.

The snow scenes are beautiful which helps a little when digging the car out. This evening shot was chosen by my daughter and we edited it together, she thinks I am an expert :-) She is chuckling behind me perhaps she knows the truth...

Our job is not complete hereafter photoshoots we edited delivered all the images to the couple and the respective with full copyright permission then they select the best Photos according to their choice for their albums without being forced to spend more money on a wedding.

Going into this project, I had no idea how to use pastel, in all honesty I was excited and slightly scared. The first day of this project we had a photoshoot where the class went inside the drama studio and had fun with the interesting lighting, poses, and angles. Once we had the picture we were happy with from the photoshoot, we edited the photos on Pixlr and made the lighting crazy and unnatural. The crazly edited pictures were what we used as a reference for our portraits. The pictures were printed and we got to work with our pastels. In this project, I wanted my final product to resemble me and I wanted to properly use the pastels with their blending. When I started using the pastels, I realized that blending wasn’t needed and it actually made my portrait look worse so I chose different colours that were closer to each other and had a gradient effect on the drawing. If I could change my portrait I would not have kept going over parts of the drawing as I made the eyes too strong in the portrait. I should have stopped drawing and left it as it was to look at and review the next next day. I was always unsatisfied with the final product so I kept adding more colour and details that weren’t even existent, in the end I think I accidently made my portrait look like Mona Lisa in the sense where the expression on my face is neither happy or sad.

This is for my photography class at the Art Institute. It's taken on film, the negatives were scanned, and we edited it on Photoshop.
Weeeiiirrrd, I know.
But so far I like it.

PS, the actual print doesn't look as bad.
We are filming most of our interviews presently using our Sony PMW F5 camera. For our contract projects that we edit and color correct I like to film using Slog2 with the LC709 typeA LUT, 23.976, 4K for 1080 or 2K. Slog on Sony F5 F55 cameras will give you 14+ stops of dynamic range or 14 stops between the minimum and maximum light intensities.
This short film is about a young man wanna find a decent job. His friend introduces him to Chinese gangdom. But he find there is total different with his original thinking, there is cruel and real.
Finally he know he can`t accept all of things about there. He find he still be loser. He knows the job is for someone who can do. Some decent works still have other sides we can`t notice.
