It comes and goes in waves

It always does, always does

We watch as our young hearts fade

Into the flood, into the flood...

Life is a series of waves to be embraced and overcome.

I had seen a small lego wave and decided I would try to build one, and this is the latest version.

See my photostream for different angles of this surfing wave.

Inspired by I Scream Clone's Life's A Beach.

Olas de Viento or "Wind Waves" sits overlooking the beach in Richmond's Garry Point Park. Artist Yvonne Domenge was chosen by the Director of the Museum of Modern Art, Mexico City to represent Mexico and created the piece specifically for the Vancouver Biennale and a beach promontory. This intense red circular form of rhythmic and undulating curves and movement is reflective of the ocean's waves within a contained form.

Shot from within The Wave looking out into the Paria Wilderness. The Wave is a wonderful place within the Paria Wilderness. It is managed by the BLM (Bureau of Land Management) and is accessible by permit only. Unfortunately, getting that permit is not the easiest thing to do, but luckily we did. The Wave is a pretty recognizable feature--it has even been a desktop background for Apple Macintoshes before.

But this shot, I like, simply because it encapsulates The Wave, yet is a different point of view. It is looking out from The Wave over the Paria Wilderness. The colors and patterns in the rock were deeply attractive to me, and this, then, is the result.
