Henderson Waves bridge is Singapore’s tallest pedestrian bridge, peaks at a maximum height of about 77.18m above sea level.

Due to the rain at night, the sky is quite clear, can see quite some stars even with the light pollution.

I took an April 1st bike ride along the river and lake and noticed it was a bit brisk. The 17 mph winds off of Lake Michigan were the cause of that.

If you love relaxing beaches and listening to the sounds of sea waves crashing on the beach this is photo for you.

A lifeguard sits and watched the ocean at Yoff Beach, Dakar, Senegal. I liked the extra impact the black and white conversion gave this shot.

Funky waves crashing against the wall

Well, I have not been much on flickr recently, and it's been awhile since my last image.

But, I hope all my contacts are doing well in the new year!

I will try to catch up a little bit over the coming weeks, and hopefully post an image or two too :-)

This is from a stormful day last autumn. Pretty much like the weather has been recently too, wet and windy.

Huge waves broke over the jetty at the mouth of Morro Bay harbor yesterday. The surf was so extreme that the water inside the harbor channel was totally roiled up too. The surf was predicted to be up to 25 feet! And as each wave smashed into the breakwater it sprayed up at least 3 times that height. It was totally awe inspiring.

Waves crashing over the Ventura Harbor breakwater in Ventura, California. Don't know why the small boats were there.

hey, ernie, what's up?

I was just thinking: isn't it odd how when you study something the thing changes?

yeah, the observer effect. like Trump winning.

no man, that's worse. it's quantum weirdness.

yeah, much worse.

you said it.

I fell down to keep off a wave.

Hobbit Beach, Oregon

I just started a book called "Blue Mind" by Wallace J. Nichols. It's about our connection to water, the way we are drawn to it, soothed and enchanted by it, and what the scientific research has to say about it. I'm still reading it, but so far so good. I am definitely taking note on how many of my personal behaviors and thoughts have been influenced by water, whether frozen in a glacier, reflecting in a lake, flowing in a waterfall, or caressing a shore. I think for me, water can be conducive to a state of mindfullness, or meditation, bringing the mind and body closer to the same moment at the same time. I'm curious to see what the research says.

Side note, this is my dad, on one of our many trips to the Oregon coast together. We've gone as a family almost yearly to bi-yearly my whole life. It is almost his birthday. Happy birthday, Dad!
