So many shades of blue...

Off the rocks at Playa Blanca Lanzarote

A big wave going over the barrier at Children's pool. The seals just sleep through it while the seagulls are startled. La Jolla, California

I was able to shot this wave in Cape Ortegal. There was red alert on the sea, with waves from 8 to 9 meters. That rocks are about 10 or 12 meters tall, so I think the water column was close to 20 meters in the air. I was lucky enough to capture this moment of rough seas :)

or waves of Space and Time odyssey

Sea waves and sea foam giving always incredible and infinite patters. Nature randomness, exacerbated and captivating.

This is at the Esquimalt Lagoon in Victoria, BC, Canada. A great day for storm chasers like me. I got soaked by the surf walking along, high on the shore. The road was closed to traffic, but you could still get close enough to have a log thrown at you if you weren't careful.

Sawarna beach, its waves would certainly challenge surfers to beat it. April to September is the time when many surfers compete to beat the wild wave of the beach.

"The Wave" is a sandstone rock formation in Coyote Buttes North, Paria Canyon - Vermillion Cliffs Wildness, USA. You have to be one of 20 who has luckily got the permits to enter this unique and wonderful landscape.

From the Wire Pass Trailhead, the Wave can be reached by hiking approximately 3 miles (4.8 km) across open desert, making the round-trip to and from the Wave a nearly 6-mile (9.7 km) hike that climbs about 350 feet (110 m) in altitude.

It's so strenuous hike for me to walk on sandy ground carrying 4 L of drinking water and heavy camera equipments on my own. After long strenuous hike, the last part of the trail is the steep sandy cliff that made me almost gave up because of my legs clamps. After resting for a while and my pain became better, I made a judgment for final climbing up. I didn’t want to throw away my opportunity that not easy to get it back again. Finally, I could reach my dream destination.

It's one of the most wonderful places ever seen. I have been very happy every time I look at this photo, it is not because I can get here and take this photo by myself but because I made a right decision for trying to get my opportunity. The day before I got into the Wave, at time I knew that I was one of the luckiest people was one of the most happiness moments in my life.

When light waves meet ocean waves, mix in a little wind, and refraction happens! Another shot from Pacifica Pier last week!

Yes, I'm still playing around with selective focus and selective color. Normal service will resume tomorrow, I promise!

Sometimes you have to get your feet wet to get the picture, but this time it was only the tripod legs that got wet.

Completely overcast day.

In La Grande Motte, in the South of France, there are several interesting buildings. This one is in the shape of a wave, see here over one of the busy marinas.

The architect of the resort-city wanted to create it from a blank slate, French architect Jean Balladur was inspired by lost civilizations of the past. His designs echo the architecture of grand Mayan ruins with some added flair from the 1960s, forming a busy seaside resort.

warning! - you have 0.2 seconds to move the tripod to higher ground

This beautiful capture is just perfect, when I reviewed it, looked like an Oil painting. The coloring and texture are satisfying, Pacific Grove, CA....ruToverphotoArt.

More ICM. Gentle lapping waves was what this beach was all about on that particular day.

I havent been doing much photography recently , these images are from my trip to Northumberland a few weeks ago

... Playa Barranco Enmedio ...

Check out this swell at Godrevy in Cornwall. Tricky conditions to capture with the seaspray on the lens but have had some practice this summer. Luckily the timing of the wave didn't obscure the lighthouse. Very exhilarating shoot.

Thanks for looking

So there I was on the beach, caught away in the moment of capturing the ever-changing light. As is too often the case, my battery died. No big deal, really, so I checked my bag for a replacement. To my dismay there was no spare. Yikes. Yes, this even happens to me. Rather than sprinting to the car to find a usable battery, I decided to relax and enjoy the remainder of the fading sun with my wife. We admired the evening for about 15 minutes. As the sun disappeared, we returned to the car and packed my camera gear. Then a hint of color again cast above on the clouds and round two began. I quickly found a spare battery in the car, grabbed my gear, and sprinted down to the shore. There was no time to setup a tripod, so I simply used the tripod as a monopod, set myself up in the waves, and captured this scene. I love it when Mother Nature teases us. She always brings me a smile -- www.chaddutson.com.

I put Lightroom aside and attempted my first full edit with PhotoShop.
