longs shot, off the lizard, cornwall

A little chop in the wind making some waves along the Chesapeake Bay. Set this up at 1/4s to capture the small crashes against the rocks. About as dramatic as it gets for the Chesapeake Bay unless under full hurricane conditions. Or maybe if a big crabbing boat goes by making waves :))

It was a very wild day at the ocean - but warm and sunny!

This is just about 100 m from the waves shown in an earlier shot: "Cold waves", taken only minutes apart.

A wave in Cape Town, where Atlantic and Indian oceans meet themselves.

A wave hits the stones in Ringvebukta.

This wave is not far beyond the Hoodoo Wave, but has very different coloration. Instead of gold, it shows bright red and white stripes. One friend said it reminded him of bacon.

This wave is quite large and would look beautiful at sunrise. There are several good comps available. It's also quite easy to get to. For directions, send me a FlickrMail.

Too intense "hopping" with the bromoil brush damaged the emulsion in the highlights...
