Thought I'd do something a little different this time. I've seen a few wave photos lately that look like this so I've guessed how it was done and think it looks ok, what do you think? I did a mean stack mode in a smart object that had nine layers from the nine image captured of the wave crashing.

we, of course, practiced the fine art of wave jumping. that the waves were non-existent deterred us not at all.

Thanks to everyone who played the guessing game with my last image. Several people got it right: the image was all sky and clouds. A couple things make it tricky to figure out. First, the picture was taken from an airplane as we were starting to rise above the clouds. Second, I flipped the image upside down. When I flipped it the blue sky seemed to take on the characteristics of an expansive sea. I've posted the same image in its original orientation here. It is also suggestive of a seascape, I think. I'm struck by how different the image appears in the two orientations with no additional changes to the processing. I'm not sure which one I like better.
It felt great to be back on Blaauwberg beach again yesterday afternoon... the rough sand crunching between my toes... the waves rushing up the beach and over my feet... and the fresh salty aroma of the Atlantic ocean filling my nostrils and lungs.
Of course the nice light and clouds at sunset also helped to fuel my sense of well-being... it all made me feel so invigorated... and so happy to be living in Cape Town!

Another golden wave, but I used that name on another. This one is below a cliff with hoodoos, so I call it the Hoodoo Wave.
You won't believe how close this is to a popular spot on the Paria Plateau, but I've never seen a photograph of it before. Don't you think this could be a magnet for photographers? I'm sure it would look stunning in the first rays of morning sunlight, and there are multiple angles you could shoot in this area.
