View from the Dutzendteich in Nuremberg

I took a long drive north along highway #1. I spent most of my time watching the waves breaking against the rocks. This scene is a few miles north of Bodega Bay. Bodega Bay is where the Hitchcock movie "The Birds" was filmed.

Beautiful and dramatic sunrise in Pololu Valley. Occasionally there would be a wave that crashes in an unusual direction like this one.

Shot this some time back when I was in London - and it's really rather difficult to get a decent reflection of Tower Bridge! It sort of came in waves - still water surrounded by ripples.

Taken at Frankston.

Soaring in the face of the gale and breaking wave, the gull seems to have no sense of danger. I was thrilled to experience the highest seas I can remember on my return to Middle Cove, near St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. The weather was miserable, but the ocean was truly magnificent. More later. In Explore.

Another view of the fabulous Light Wave.

I will upload another couple of shots - hope you don't mind, it's so attractive, even in daylight!

Sea wind, tribute to past surfers.

Born a thousand miles away in a North Pacific storm, a wave touches bottom, rears up, and hurls tons of briny water on an intercepting beach. It culminates in a crashing finale dissipating kinetic energy as heat. Like snowflakes, every wave is different from all the others.

Wave off the coast of Gran Canaria. A nice and quiet day, but still sizable waves hitting the coast near Patalavaca

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

just because it is a collection of such ridiculously good things...

Beautiful colours in the sky reflecting on the ocean this evening but not much shape to the clouds so decided to try a different approach.

I could look at waves all day...

The waves were amazing this afternoon

Taken this afternoon at Tynemouth where the waves were giving the pier quite a hammering

Processed with VSCO with f2 preset

I realize this is abuse of image processing software, but what-the-heck... It started as a blurry ICM shot of a speeding freight train. I boosted color and contrast then transformed the shape with the liquify tool in Photoshop Elements. I hope it works for Sliders Sunday.
