The latest in a series of self-portraits that started in 2010. After my first coronary stents. So far I've recorded 9 years of aging. I guess we'll see how far I get. I try to keep them as straight forward and visually true as possible.
A studio composition built around contrast: the clean, confident presence of the model and the quiet nostalgia of an old wooden chair.
What could have remained a simple pose study becomes something more atmospheric through the character of the furniture — a meeting of elegance, memory and restraint.
The dark backdrop, the warm wood tones and the composed posture give the image a cinematic stillness that I particularly like.

A late‑summer evening at Nes in Tønsberg, captured during an unusually warm period along the Vestfold coast. The silhouettes, the warm sky and the calm sea came together in a single frozen moment just before the splash.
As the sky burned gold and blue, the jump became a celebration of light, warmth and fleeting summer freedom — a reminder of those nights when Norway felt like the south, and the sea stayed warm long after sunset.

Norway experienced several record‑breaking warm summers in the early 2010s, with ocean surface temperatures along parts of the southern coast reaching levels normally associated with the Mediterranean. For many locals, evening and even late‑night swims became a new “summer tradition.”

A Crape Myrtle tree in my front yard with Spanish Moss and the first small spring leaves. Shot in digital infrared with a red filter. I like the twists and turns of the trunk and branches. Crape Myrtles are as common as fleas on a dog in Florida as is Spanish Moss.
I love this place. It is all concrete and in a way very primitive...it is 2001 Space Oddity. Soul inside the stone.

"Lynx of the Mountain Meadow" by Patti Deters. Two Canadian lynx (Lynx canadensis) siblings stand side-by-side in a highland meadow against a painterly mountain background. The two felines were photographed in a zoo (they are notoriously shy and rarely seen in the wild, much less two at the same time!), and the painterly background helps set them in a more natural environment. This image is more than just a pretty depiction of wildlife; it is a testament to the beauty and mystery of the natural world.
