FOOD FOR THOUGHT:
by Chuck Swindoll re: Rest & Peace
1. We acknowledge that our God is in full control of our lives. No accidents or surprises occur. He calls the shots.
2. We take Him at His Word. We believe His promises (the Bible is full of them—by the hundreds).
3. We believe His Words by faith. We apply them to our particular circumstance almost as if God were speaking directly to us this very moment.
4. We rest in Him. We consciously refuse to worry or fret over how He is going to work things out. By entering into that rest, we cease from our own works just as deliberately as our Creator-God ceased from His works on the seventh day of the creative week.
5. We continue in that calm frame of mind until God sovereignly intervenes and solves the problem. We keep trusting in Him with all our hearts. And every time an alien thought of anxiety flits through our minds, we turn it over to the Lord in prayer.
Cease striving and know that I am God.
Psalm 46:10
Enjoy your rest this weekend and may you have fun and have lots of laughter whatever you do my very talented friends!

A beautiful morning in Detroit, the sun was just coming up, the whole sky turned yellowish orange and I loved how the brick buildings had a warm glow..
As always, your constructive comments are appreciated and more than welcome.

I quite enjoyed processing this pic, it just seemed to evoke late summer evenings with no prospect of rain and a gentle breeze coming off the Med...sigh, it's a closed book to me now....

Long time no talk! I've been so busy with school and volleyball and homework, it's been pretty rough. But this weekend I got a chance to have a shoot outside in my backyard. These are how they turned out! Decent? This one is my favorite! I enjoy it so so so much! Well I don't know how I can update you on everything, so I'll just do facts?
Here we go:
- I made captian on the Junior Varsity volleyball team
- I finally created a YouTube account for my singing/music! To check it out just search Chantel Baggley
- I'm in applied math and it's somewhat hard for me
- I've been gaining lots of friends, instead of loosing them
- I think Facebook is rather pathetic now a days
- I'm not excited for winter (only for snow pictures)
- My basement is finnished! It's not pale white anymore! It's a nice dark red!
- I have new carpet also!
- I'm really tired!
Please please please please please comment, favorite, and give me some advice for my pictures! I love to listen!
Question - How was your weekend? Anything exciting happen?
Keep smiling,
Chantel T Baggley

No Photoshop involved. I got up at 5 in the morning to get there. Foggy atmosphere & long exposure... I plan to tone this print with selenium toner...
Second Diptych!
I'm not sure if perhaps I should have put an outline around this image, because of the light background around the top…
Thanks to Martin LaBar, we now know this is a Teasel! It turns out to be a Fuller's teasel, to be precise.
A brief and glancing sky fire over Langorse lake last weekend, think the sunrise lasted a mere minute before dying off back in to the greys and blues of the dawn.
Penultimate image in this series, the final one going back to the stars!
As a few of my friends on flickr often link to music, you may wish to know, this was edited to Portishead - Roads looking at you Mark & D.T who have got me started on this :)

These days the cost of air tickets could be even cheaper than taking a taxi on certain air routes. Just wondering how they survive? Shot through a glass with a polarizer filter without tripod from the viewing gallery. Added a dramatic sky from my library to spice it up a little.
pp: No HDR. Just blending with overlay graduation and toying with erasing opacity on selected spots to avoid a flat image. Finish with a little sharpening & contrast.

My first lumen print triptych composed of three different 8 x 10 in. paper. Top to bottom photos are Ilford MG RC paper, Bergger Prestige paper, and Ilford MG FB warmtone paper. Lumen prints were created more than three years ago in March 2013 from a neighbor's artichoke plant with goal of making a triptych someday. Last night I slept late learning photoshop and finally made it happen!
Scanned print.

Printed on Fotokemika Varycon PE (RC) 18x24 cm. Ilford MG.
Toned in Selenium, bleached, toned in Thiourea, strong bleach and toned in Thiourea again.
Just have to accept that non-warmtone RC paper isn't as rececptive to toning as warmtone fiber paper.
