Winter Glow

A January sunset over Kelowna, where cold air meets warm colour. I’m often drawn to moments like this—soft light, quiet skies, and the way winter evenings still find room to glow. This is how I like to slow down and see the day end.

A ploughed field under a stunning stormy sky at sunset with twin lightning strikes.

**🎬 Prompt :**

**🎬 Prompt:**

Ultra-detailed hyperrealistic cinematic portrait of an enigmatic woman standing in the heart of a lush, enchanted forest, bathed in warm golden-hour light. Her face is perfectly symmetrical, with luminous, slightly dewy skin revealing natural pores and fine texture. She wears warm-toned makeup in copper and amber hues, enhancing her striking glowing amber eyes filled with intricate reflections.

Her voluminous, curly hair appears almost alive, resembling glowing ember-like filaments, interwoven with delicate ivy vines, lush green leaves, and small vibrant purple flowers, as if nature itself is fused into her being. Tiny bioluminescent particles float around her, creating a magical, ethereal atmosphere. Her skin is dusted with subtle golden sparkles, like stardust catching the light.

She wears a flowing, elegant purple dress with rich textures and slight translucency, reflecting light with a soft satin sheen. The background reveals a dense jungle with soft-focus waterfalls, cinematic depth of field, and creamy bokeh. Sun rays filter through the canopy, illuminating misty air and enhancing the humid, dreamlike environment.

**Visual style:** ultra photorealistic, 8K resolution, HDR, extreme detail, shallow depth of field, shot on 85mm lens, f/1.4 aperture, volumetric lighting, high-end fantasy film aesthetic blending fashion photography and mythological storytelling.

**Art direction:** fusion of a nature goddess and a modern muse, mystical aura, powerful and captivating gaze, poised and regal posture.

**Effects:** floating particles, subtle glow, natural lens flare, wet skin highlights, organic micro-details.

One of my better shots taken during the best sunrise I've ever seen let alone photographed. This was taken on Shavers Fork (of the Cheat River) just outside of Elkins, WV October of 2022 right during peak fall colors for the area. Fog was thick and when the sun did break through, it produced these vibrant oranges and yellows, it was so cool!

This shot was taken on Flamborough beach at Dawn. The waves were crashing high up against the rocks so I shot Severn exposures at 1/1000 shutter speed. I was hoping to freeze a good wave splash. Unfortunately my timing was off so not happy with that idea I decided to stack the Severn images in PS and using the mean blend mode. This gave me what appears to be a long exposure image but with no tripod or filters used.

A bit pictorialst thanks to fog and shallow depth of field, plus warm tones in the print.

the last picture of this little night series shot with my old Canon camera and a tele zoom. the camera is over 10 years old and thus a digital dinosaur. the maximum ISO is 1600 which limits night use without a tripod considerably. however the rendering of night images is interesting. it was an interesting experience to shoot her in low light and to process the pictures. the pictures actually did not require a lot of processing at all.

as the afternoon sun slips through the narrow street like a whispered memory, two figures cross paths in silence. their shadows stretch long across the ancient stones, mirroring the quiet weight of timeless cities. every wall in palma holds a conversation between now and forever — and for a fleeting second, you’re listening.

Since Kate was out this afternoon, I made myself lunch including my favorite pre-cooked meat product. It was the perfect opportunity, since she's not a big fan.

As I was plating my repast, I was nervous about the juice from the beans touching the eggs (yeah, a little OCD), until I had the brilliant idea of putting the Spam between them.

Later, after I picked her up, I told Kate about my culinary genius and Kate immediately said, "a Spam dam."
