Wallet by Eddie Kinner P.O.W.
‘As Loyalist Prisoners settled into the POW style Camp in Long Kesh in their spare time they would create various handicrafts. The most popular form of handicrafts was leatherwork. Wallets, purses, belts, handbags etc. would be produced on request and sent on to customers on the outside. Prisoners became very skilful and developed their skills producing some of the finest Leatherwork over the years.’

Somewhere on my journey home from Florida I lost my wallet. It might
have been stolen as there is a strange gas station purchase that was
attempted after I had lost it. I ended up having to go to the DMV and
contacting both my banks for new cards. I snapped this photo while
waiting for my temporary drivers license at the DMV. I'm sure glad
that I do not need to sit in that chair.
My new handmade wallet.
This one is a really challenge in color matching.
At first I plan to use only 2 master colors : Purple and green.
But it's turn out so colorful. ^_^"

Darek called me this morning and asked me to bring his wallet, which he had forgotten, to him at work and put it in his car under the seat. I took it there and had forgotten to bring a key to his car, so I took the wallet in the store and left it with a friend. I got to see a couple of my favorite people today.
On the way home I stopped at the Elephant Carwash for a car wash. They were busy, but I had no place I had to be so I left my keys and headed to the Rancho Mirage Civic Park. It is a really beautiful park.
Oh...and I took photos along the way. This is one of them.
I made these card wallets using fabric, interfacing, elastic from a hair elastic, and a fabric covered button. They are quick to make and great for carrying credit cards, business cards, or for using as a gift card holder.
A tutorial is posted on my blog: needleandspatula.blogspot.com/2010/12/card-wallet-sewing-...
I got bored of my duct tape wallet, so I made myself a new one out of fabric this time. The plaid fabric is from a pair of shorts I found at a thrift store, and the pockets and lining are made from a canvas bag, also from said thrift store. My stitching skills leave something to be desired, but it's good enough for me.

I did make this wallet from the Quilted fabric wallet tutorial from "that darn kat". I did use fabrics from Heather Bailey's Freshcut line that I bought from the wonderful Etsy shop Starlitnest. I have also added a pic of the wallet inside. Great pattern and beautiful selection of fabrics made in the store!!!
