Nowadays everyone has a wallet, but in the past it was different.
A money bag was seen as poor, not something for ladies and gentlemen.
Ladies and gentlemen did not do their business via the money bag.
The oldest known wallet was found with Otzi the Iceman who lived around 3000 years before Christ.
A small leather hip bag was found with him.

I have this old coin purse in which I store a few Canadian coins left over from the last of many fishing trips to a lake near Sudbury. Some of my fondest memories of my father are from those trips. Thank you Canada. The image is about 70mm across. HMM and thanks for any views, faves and comments.
A wallet created from leathers of various colours creates an abstract modern art pattern when viewed in macro closeup.

This is a mini wallet which holds only debit/credit cards. I never use it because I always prefer to carry some cash (including coins) with me at all times, so my everyday wallet is bigger and more functional since I seem to carry quite a few gift cards and store reward program cards.

This will probably give me back pain, and it has ruined a few pairs of pants due to back pocket corrosion, but the sad thing is that I keep my money in my front pocket, and most of the stuff in the wallet is business cards, expired credit cards (neteller etc.), and receipts that have all the print worn off. . . I think I'll get a new wallet this week. . .
