... just know that they are very efficient about kicking you out at 4am. A Chicago police officer goes around saying "wake up, 4am, hate to be the bearer of bad news." And before you can ask "do you come with a snooze button?" your cot is gone (as you can see from the data, this was taken at 4:03am).
I woke Ella up when I walked in the the camera and she began to stretch...

Last night we arrived at Bodega Bay, the same place where I celebrated my birthday weekend. I am happy to be back here again!

I praise the day dedicated to sleeping in until noon, an unhealthy breakfast, and decade-old cartoons.

8/10/2013: It seems early still but 7:54 am is "sleeping in" for me. I actually got up about 30 minutes after I posted this. I couldn't get back to sleep. Besides, I knew it was going to be a busy day with errands and a family birthday dinner that we were hosting at our house (instead of Dad's).

Day 2: Just woke up at 9... Nothing like waking up to a blazing view of the sun peeping in through your blinds...
and its amazing as an 'adult' that 9 am is 'sleeping in'. Damn those college days of sleeping in till 11 or 12 and then going to the dining hall to eat nothing but junk... *sigh*
Busy day today... going on a photoshoot with some friends into downtown Detroit... stay tuned for some good pics ;)
mentally, the weekend ends on a monday morning, after a stroll to the beach in the strengthening sunlight.
a lovely weekend it was, modest in scale but gratifying in its delivery. a weekend that involved hiking, dining, socializing, art gallerying, gardening, bicycling (though we missed the bike ride), cooking, contemplating colors and hues and odd neighbours, meeting old friends in new places, writing emails to family and friends in old places, gazing at the ocean, the sea, from many different vantage points. i received a wonderful gift from a friend this weekend, and there seemed to be time to enjoy almost everything.
