When the temperatures started to get cold last fall, the wasps and bees would sleep under the Dahlia petals at night to stay warm. This wasp was just waking up and crawling out of bed when I spotted him. 😄

This Great Blue Heron was having a hard time waking up this day. It kept fluffing it feathers and I caught him in this awkward pose. I just posted an image of a real stunner which is just the opposite. This species has many different looks. Taken in the Everglades.

Most afternoons Rena and I go into the sunny little den and she sleeps while I read. This is a happy part of our daily life that we both look forward to. Here she's waking up because Benni Dog just came in to check on us.

Hier j'ai profité de l'assouplissement de notre Premier Ministre qui conseillait - lors de son point de presse - aux sages de sortir à l'extérieur pour profiter du soleil qui apporte bienfaits au moral. Ne faisant pas encore partie de cette catégorie, j'ai perçu cette invitation comme s'adressant à tout le monde en respectant, bien sûr, les mesures de distanciations sociales. Je me suis dirigée avec ma bonne amie Anne vers le Parc Bernard Landry pour photographier les Branchus et arrivées dans le stationnement quelle fût notre surprise en voyant qu'un Petit duc maculé trônait sagement dans sa cavité. Nous avons fait quelques prises pour ensuite nous rendre vers l'étang des Branchus. En revenant, lorsque le soleil baissait à l'horizon, le Petit duc commençait déjà à s'activer, regardant à droite et à gauche, au loin, s'avançant à l'avant de son trou. Il était si adorable à regarder que nous avons décidé de rester jusqu'à sa sortie sur une branche et son envol à 20H10. J'ai réussi à prendre quelques clichés que je présenterai sans doute mais qui ont un ISO fort élevé...Quelle journée magique qui nous a fait oublié le temps de quelques heures la situation suffocante dans laquelle nous vivons tous.

When I visit my mother I get to see this beautiful pier from all different angles on a regular basis. It allows me to walk around and try compositions I normally wouldn't bother with. I particularly am fond of this shot while looking at it in post. I didn't think much of it when I took it. The light beams really add a little magic IMO.

One of the most awesome mornings I have ever had. Hopefully not the last one.

I was checking out the Beech tree where I know a White Squirrel has a nest in a hole. About 2 feet above that hole, is this larger hollow. I could see some fur and crunched on a fallen branch.Immediately this little head looked down at me! I squeezed off some quick shots and moved a step forward to the tree. The racccoon turned his head away from me and went back to sleep.

Shortly after sunrise clouds started drifting in over the old town of Riomaggiore, Cinque Terre (Italy).

For a couple of yours I had this spot like many photographers on my bucket list to see and shoot. I enjoyed this early morning, it is a unique feeling standing there and experiencing the calmness of the sea and a small village that only a few hours later would be swarmed by tourist and enthusiast photographers like me.

In the autumn the tree frogs always sleep on my front porch. This one had just crawled out of the edge of the siding. It saw me, stayed for a few shots, then crawled back into its sleeping spot. There were 4 frogs on the porch tonight. They wake up when it gets dark then go out insect hunting for the night.
