I come from a family of early morning risers and I most definitely fit that mold. Staying up late really kills me and I just can't do it on a regular basis. I'm usually up an hour or more before the rest of the crew and I generally use that time to catch up on blogs/Flickr and all that sort of stuff or else I just knit or spin while I have a quiet moment to myself. This early to bed early to rise thing means that I'm late to the conversation on most things and consequently I often don't comment 'cause really most folks have already moved on and quit reading. It has it's advantages too though, I nearly always have that quiet window for things that really need some focus.

I'm in a fog. Why, when you have two weeks off work, do you still wake up at 5:30. It's so annoying. In this room I feel like I am in a pink fluff. Now can i go back to sleep? Oh, and I know I need to repaint my toenails.

About 7 or 8 in the morning, and we are tired and cranky from our roadtrip, but I still can't help running around taking pics, and just taking in everything.

After months of torpidity - not quite hibernation, but rather a major metabolic slowdown - it must feel good to venture above ground again, stretch, sniff, rediscover the world. I know I'm projecting. It's a rodent. How can I possibly know how it experiences its life? Upper dogtown, Grasslands National Park, Saskatchewan.
