We've had a few days of sun after lots of rain, so I took advantage of the nice weather today to do some cleanup in the native-plant garden. When I was moving rocks to make it easier to rake, I uncovered this alligator lizard, all curled up and asleep. As you can see, she doesn't look too happy with me. But after I took a couple of pictures, I put her back in a nice thick bed of leaves and she burrowed under again. These lizards probably don't truly hibernate, or not deeply anyway, around here, so I'm sure she'll be no worse for the wear after her rude awakening this morning.
I wish I could remember the company that made her outfit. The jacket, shirt, skirt, & purse all came together in a set. I bought it many years ago at a toy store. They made a bunch of them & they were really cheap. I like them, especially the jackets. There aren't any labels anywhere, so I have no clue.
I spent some time trying to photograph a brood of fledged little owl youngsters that had yet to leave their parents' roost area. One windy day I managed to stalk very close to an individual perched on a low branch, so fast asleep that I had to whistle to wake it up! I thought the series might amuse...
I got called into work last week at 4 am. After taking care of business I thought I might head over to a favorite spot to see the sunrise. I don't get up for many sunrises because I don't like to get up that early and our sunsets over the ocean are usually so much better. I tried out my Hasselblad with Fuji Reala 100 film and the long exposure really brought out the colors. I switched to my digital camera a few minutes later and a huge wall of fog engulfed the coast and the lighthouse was no longer visible (see below).
been a while I haven't taken self portraiture, was busy a while shoots for others and I actually a bit bored taking pics of my self haha..
but well here new one I taken this morning after wakeup
