A flock of 150-200 Willets gathered on the edge of a sandbar, ready to nap for awhile. As the water level rose with the tide, they began to awaken and find themselves in shallow water.
I've only driven through this town a few times, always after picking up a meat load in Gaylord Minnesota. A Michael Farrell, a friend of ours on Flickr mentioned it before, I think he has a relative that lives here. Anyway, decided if I'd try to get a decent picture as I passed through. I was making a right turn and had a green light, but no cars behind, so I stopped in the intersection and took a picture.

Back in 2019 went on a Norwegian Cruise. One morning our 3 year old was up early and couldn't sleep so we went up on deck. It was one of the most magical moments of my life. Cruising down the Fjords at 5am, with the most calm waters and splendid scenery.
Was a little cold, but nothing that a nice warm coffee couldn't sort out.

I was up to my old hijinks yesterday with an outrageously early wakeup (3am) and then racing to the beach to catch a spectacular sunrise with a great photo friend (thanks AmyAstro!). You check the forecasts to get the best intel on what to expect from the weather and you have visions of the sun poking through the pier legs as it begins its daily trek across the sky. But what if the weather isn't as forecast, say 25% cloud cover instead of 75%? And what if a low cloud bank on the horizon covers the sunrise you envisioned? You enjoy the fantastic color that the sun created behind the cloudbank and you capture an image like this. It wasn't the sunrise I had in mind, but I think it will do very nicely, and hope you do too. ;-)
