Thanks to a timely tip from Uncle Wak , I was able to rendezvous with this long W&LE empty sand train at Spencer where they picked up the one pellet car for the CN at Lang Yard. Here they are just clearing the CSX diamond in Wellington and will soon be notching up for the run into Hartland.

The Pennsylvania State Memorial[2] is a monument in Gettysburg National Military Park that commemorates the 34,530 Pennsylvania soldiers who fought in the July 1 to 3, 1863 Battle of Gettysburg during the American Civil War. The memorial stands along Cemetery Ridge, the Union battle line on July 2, 1863.[3] Completed in 1914, it is the largest of the state monuments on the Gettysburg Battlefield.[4]
Seven W&LE 4 axles interrupt the Sunday morning service at the next door Living Grace Christian Church where my parents used to attend on 11/3/2024. Even with 40 cars of stone for Carrolton, they didn't need all 7 to get up the hill out of the Tuscarawas River valley, but they were all running. This was a power move to get units to Gambrinus for the locals there, including 4 for the Carrolton stone train that ran later that night. The 301 started life as a Penn Central GP40 (#3153), was bought by the DRG&W (#3142), and was then sold by UP to the W&LE in 2001.

W&LE's train #237 with 2 SD Tigers is heading into the curve that connects the former NYC Big Four with the former B&O mainline to Chicago at Greenwich Ohio on November 4, 2020. #237 runs from Brewster to Willard and is a good bet to have 2 Tigers due to PTC requirements on CSX. W&LE doesn't have much PTC-equipped power that is not repainted. It has been running so that it hits CSX mid morning making for good light on the Big Four and eventually good light on the B&O since they often have to do the 'Willard Wait' for traffic ahead trying to get into the yard
G&W 46 and RSR 879 pass the old shanty at the old diamond location with the NYC Peanut Line at P&L Jct. in Caledonia, NY on a rainy October 1, 2011. We were at the Genesee Country Museum for the annual poultry show and I heard the horn of this train blowing at the Mumford crossing, so I grabbed my daughter Bethany's camera and ran over to P&L Jct. to look for it.

N&W 2514 leads a pair of D&H U33-C's on an Eastbound D&H freight at the double semaphores at 320 on the East side of Adrian, NY on September 30, 1979. This train was leaving Hornell when I arrived there and I had to chase it down to the valley after getting a crappy grab shot at ZY. The light was still low from the fog, but this shot came out better than my first grab shot. The 2514 is the ex NKP 514, and it survives today at Steamtown in Scranton, PA.

I sometimes process photos into B&W. It often works well when the sky is overcast. I hadn't been interested in B/W for many years but recently I'm starting to be more interested in B&W photography. I'm gonna be getting a couple of new filters soon from NiSi Filters and create some nice BWLE shots.
