It was overcast and rainy day at the Leivonmäki national park in Finland. Walked there for a good time and I saw nothing to photograph, until this. Just a lonely tree leaning towards the lake with sun shining through the clouds. Simple, but it works.

Sumatran Orangutan
A bit different from my usual fare and although the majority of my images are of wild creatures I don't have a problem with photographing captive animals, especially as modern UK zoos do a lot of good conservation work. It is many, many years since I have visited a zoo and I was pleasantly surprised at Chester; huge enclosures and many birds free flying. It does enable you to get some interesting images.

Something different, first a B/W pic, second a Pano and a conversion in Nik Software. I wanted to try this for ones.

Mayfield Park, Austin, TX. Sony A6000 and Schneider Kreuznach Componar 50/4.5 enlarger lens. As of January 8, still no freeze in Austin, so some flowers are blooming. This photo illustrates the 28-58mm focusing helicoid (M42 to nex) as a continuously variable extension tube, allowing quite close focus. Also, when the helicoid is zoomed all the way in, the SK focuses to infinity, if the M25 to M39/M42 ring allows the lens to fit flush on the helicoid.
