Thanks to a timely tip from Uncle Wak , I was able to rendezvous with this long W&LE empty sand train at Spencer where they picked up the one pellet car for the CN at Lang Yard. Here they are just clearing the CSX diamond in Wellington and will soon be notching up for the run into Hartland.
The assisted living home where my parents are has been allowing limited week-day only short outdoor visits during the pandemic. I've been scheduling mine in the afternoons partly because there is a little bit of shade from their patio and partly because the Wheeling often has a late afternoon westbound out of Brewster with PTC-equipped SD40's for the run across CSX at New London. Most of those were repainted when PTC was installed. On July 1st I got lucky when they ran a coke train in front of the freight to Carey that was set back late and didn't have a matched lashup anyway. Chasing on the Brewster sub has been difficult this summer unless the 25mph speed restriction is in effect for when it's above 90. My luck continued this day after shooting in Smithville, the dispatcher put the coke train into the siding at Creston to avoid congestion at Spencer, and then changed his mind and allowed him to go on hold the main at Spencer. Creston siding has often been the end of a westbound chase this summer. That gave me time to get around Lodi to one of the better views on the sub at Sanford Rd.
Flowers are one of my favorite subjects to photograph, as it' s always a peaceful moment and the colors are beautiful and saturated, straight out of the camera. But sometimes you simply see the good elements for a B&W oportunity, then the conversion turns out to be as much beautiful as the color, turning our attention much more to the incredible textures of the macro world!

This is Ashley. Again "Nikon N50" Foling around. Trying to Learn the Camera. she is young here.
Now, she has high Blood Presure (or so says the Vet) she will not take the pills. if I forcably give her the Pills. she does Not like it at all. so Now she's been hiding under the Couch all day. she does like to go there. now, though. it's all day and night. comes out at Midnight. soon as the Sun gets bright she thinks I'm going to grab her and shove something in her moputh. so BING Right back under the Couch. poor cat. Just lost the other cat. so she's all Confused.
what a rare find, I put out apples and corn in hope of getting deer ~ all I got so far has still been fascinating!!
