The biological filter cycle for aquariums. Fish produce ammonia, which is consumed by bacteria that produce nitrite, which is consumed by bacteria that produce nitrate, which is relatively non-toxic and can be removed by changing water via bucket.

Every Thursday at XPLANE we have visual thinking school, where we focus on getting better at our craft. This week we looked at the last month's work with a critical eye.
Yes, beer was involved. And Post-it notes and colored pens AND a speaker phone!
I'm doing a bunch of exercises to learn visual thinking. Here are some recent samples. We redrew the figures to make it clear that the group of friends together was making at least some overtures to the neglectful outsider.
The world is changing and we aren't keeping up. If we aren't careful we'll wake up one day and it'll be too late.
