This is my new journal that I made for 2009. The front and back have embedded lace, and the front also has embedded letters. It's all covered with paint and glitter glue, as it should be.
I like the binding that I did. It was tricky because I had to sew in 2 signatures at the same time to get this design. But it was worth it.
Done very quickly ....about 15 minutes start to finish, including finding my materials! Just needed to journal before I fell asleep!
This journal has hand dyed fabric covers with playful free form stitches, the embellished covers showcase my stitched doodles. The journal is
Happy Friday the 13th!!! This page came together so quickly and I think it's one of my faves too. I had painted the background yesterday and found the really awesome quote in an Oprah magazine along with the image of the little boy and the two seemed to fit. I laser copied the quote so I could do an image transfer on contact paper, white washed the magazine image (it was just way to glossy for me) and added rub on letters and some stickers I painted last night. His one shoe is missing because I ripped off the other letters I had placed under neath, but it works for me. I just love the expression on his face and how tightly clenched his fists are.
This is a set of 5 over-sized postcards of some of my visual journal pages. Each glossy postcard represents a journal spread, and is 8.5" x 5.5". The printing quality is so good, you can read my writing and feel what I was feeling when I created the journal page. Keep it for yourself for art inspiration, or mail it. The back is blank, except for my information, so you can write a note and address it.

This is a visual journal I'm making as I work through the book "Your Heart's Desire" by Sonia Choquette. I've decided to work differently than I usually do--I'm "prepping" the pages before I do the journaling instead of doing it all at the same time. Here's the prepped spread before I "worked" on it.

After work burger. Every beginning of the month I get all motivated and pumped up to eat healthy, no carbs, no sugar and lose weight. It works for first 1-2 weeks and then it’s back guilty pleasures. Anyone can relate?
