This is a visual journal I'm making as I work through the book "Your Heart's Desire" by Sonia Choquette. I've decided to work differently than I usually do--I'm "prepping" the pages before I do the journaling instead of doing it all at the same time.
An art journal page in progress- I used stamps, spray inks, stencils/masks/templates, white acrylic, etc.

Two Black Butterlies always want to fly. One day i opened the cage for them. One flew right the way but one stayed. I asked her why, she stared at me and said,“I don’t know where to go,
the cage probably is still my best home”it sounds so scary to step ahead to somewhere you’ve never been but so what? you will never know either if you just stay. Will you Fly or will you stay?
I like the challenge of the vintage pages sewn in ~ at least for now. The other journal I did this with irritated me at times because I just wanted to journal and not deal with challenges.

These pages are from an old Brownie book. I wasn't ever a Brownie, but I sure liked the idea of being one.
it's Elizabeth Rosa's this time, a brand I haven't heard of before I walked into their little boutique store in Blue Mountains; good leather, perfect binding, good drawing paper, and even a holder for a pen and a pencil - a perfect little book!
This is my new journal that I made for 2009. The front and back have embedded lace, and the front also has embedded letters. It's all covered with paint and glitter glue, as it should be.
the heart stamp is hand-carved by me.
Spread done in atlas journal. Vintage papers were glued down randomly and then painted over. Raised wallpaper was used to stamp and add texture. Rub on letters and designs, along with images were collaged and then journalling was done with a white Sigma pen.
