While I'm reading In praise of slowness by Carl Honoré I leave you with this page made years ago.
Enjoy yourself!
Finally I started working in this ledger. This is a small, 21 x 17 cm, old photo-album which I found in a thrift store.
In this ledger I challenge myself to build a bridge between the skills from the days gone by and my skills.
The old linen bag is embellished with a large piece of lace.
When this page got finished the sun was tumbling down again. Photographing it immediately made my day even more happy!
🌅 Good Morning Thursday!
A Fisherking morning
Ever seen light dance on water like it's trying to tell a secret? This morning felt like a hidden chapter in a fairytale—the stillness, the mist, the golden hour that kissed everything just right. A lone bird soared above while ripples told silent stories. It’s in these quiet moments that nature speaks the loudest.
We chase chaos, we scroll endlessly—but mornings like these remind us why we pause. Why we breathe. Why we watch. The beauty around us is wild, calm, and eternal—all at once.
Caught this scene right before the world woke up. What do your mornings look like? Stillness or storm?
Let this be your gentle reminder: it’s okay to start slow. It’s okay to just watch the sky for a while.

Journaling collage...in my art journal. I traveled inside while my family traveled the globe. An introvert's journey...
Yesterday I gave a little peak. Today the full page because I love how things came together. All the elements used in my bulky blue book are on this page in an understated way. Really happy all the work that I've done the last four months.
I have been to the botanical garden again last week and that's what I found!
a little out of focus I know. I need to practice more with this new lens. it's not that easy as I thought to get a sharp field...

Here you can see the start of the blue layer which is the finishing touch of this strip of cross-stitch. The strip is just over 30 cm's long and 3,5 cm's wide.
My blue investigation is still going strong and since there was a little bit of sunshine I thought to give you a peek of what's happening
All the bullion knots are laid down and a strip of knitting is attached. There is still a lot to do but it is wonderful to see how a page grows by simply swinging one's needle.
Enjoy your saturday!
Yesterday, it was a cold an grey day and so knitting was on my mind. These 5 strips of 35 cm are done now, the sun is shining and the sky is blue. Time to get outside!
Have a fabulous sunday!
inverted from the days when we'd watch them from brooklyn w/ manhattan as the backdrop...
this was from within the fortress, the foreground a silouetted cityscape, bursts beyond
One tulip-shape filled with buttonhole lace.
Have a wonderful monday despite the windy and wet weather outside!
Monet is my favorite Impressionist artist and it was amazing to get to see his work at the Met and MOMA this summer. So this is my tribute to him.
While visiting my parents, I borrowed my bro (Joits) D300, a macro lens and spent a couple hours in the garden. I forgot my brother shoots RAW so it gave me my first chance to try it out editing tonight. Wow, is all I can say. It changes up my whole workflow but I do like the results. I really don't need to process as much as I did when shooting jpeg, everything is very subtle but the details are quite significant. Or maybe it's just Jon's D300 and the 60mm macro lens.(?!) Hmm must investigate this shooting in RAW more. ;-)
This pattern sheet was printed in 1910. The colours I used give it a folklore-feeling, at least to me .. :-))
Enjoy your tuesday!
Halfway with a long row of cross-stitch in a mix of organic merino wool and organic cotton.Last week I made notes for a new big project and this is the start of it. The paper is from an old genealogy book which was printed in the early 1940's. Used this paper before and it is absolutely wonderful to stitch on.
“Wakan Tanka, Great Mystery, teach me how to trust my heart, my mind, my intuition, my inner knowing, the senses of my body, the blessings of my spirit. Teach me to trust these things so that I may enter my sacred space and love beyond my fear, and thus walk in balance with the passing of each glorious sun. "
