This wedding inspiration board was inspired by Pantone's 2010 color of the year – Turquoise.
If you can't have a destination wedding on the beach with the ocean as your gorgeous backdrop, bring the ocean to you. Be bold! and wash everything in shades of the ocean for your wedding and reception. Surround your whole reception venue with strong, accessory lighting to create the effect that you are surrounded by the cool, ocean water.
I have the perfect wedding invitation design that will go perfectly with the look of this mood board. I am envisioning a very artistic treatment of waves, very graphic, on the cover, and the initials of the bride and groom are perfectly embedded into the design. If you like what you see and hear, email me for custom invitation designs. I am here to help in anyway to make your day come to life.

Label reads: “The Semillon grapes for this wine were picked during mid-vintage from our Pokolbin vineyards. The juice was fermented cold in Old German Oak casks and then matured for three months in new German Oak puncheons. The wine will be transferred back to large Oak until bottling in August 1978. This wine has rich green/gold colour and full fruit flavour which is enhanced and lifted by the small Oak treatment. I believe this wine required 1/3 years bottle ageing to realize the full potential of the style. Murray D. Tyrrell Winemaker.”

Label reads: “The 1975 Vintage in the Hunter Valley was an exceptional one. Wines are a lighter more delicate style displaying strength of flavour and a finesse similar to the 1972 vintage. This wine was made from Semillon grapes picked early in vintage from the sandy loam flats of our Pokolbin vineyards. It was fermented cold in old German Oak casks and bottled early to preserve the natural freshness and flavour of the Semillon grape. The wine has an attractive green/gold colour and fresh crisp flavour. This wine is suitable for immediate drinking, but I believe it will develop into a classic Hunter style if carefully cellared for up to five years. Murray D. Tyrrell. Winemaker.”

Picked off the old vines of the Baulkham Vineyards during late vintage. Here, the vines are grown on rich red clay soil that generally produced big flavoured wines. Colors: Green, White + Gray
I had an itch for a summer, emerald green color palette after I saw the Carolina Herrera's white gown called "Constance". The dramatic, wavy ruffles on the dress reminded me of the Peony's chunky white petals (on the second board, lower-right corner). Then I saw the dark green stem against the white Peony and came up with the perfect color combo – green, white and a soft grey. It's a nice combination for a spring wedding – fresh, crisp and clean.
I always love a nice, tailored grey suit with a nice tie, like the one above in green for the groom and his groomsmen. And for the reception table decor, only use fresh live plants like green grass, moss, herbs and even live plant terrariums.

This 1st birthday invitation is for a boy so it required masculine colors which worked well with the Halloween theme. Being a themed invite, I didn't want to go overboard with it being gruesome/scary and wanted a "cuteness" factor, because this is a party geared towards little kiddies ranging in ages from 1 to 5 yrs old. And the perfect visual solution that also happens to be on trend with the season are owls. However for this invite design, I made the owl a baby with big, white googly eyes on an overly rounded body.
In the background, I created a custom pattern with different sized googly eyes repeated, and layered it on a textural, brushed background to add another visual layer of interest. Isn't this baby owl so adorable!? I just want to pinch his cheeks. :)

Label reads: “This wine was made to the classic Sauterne style from Semillon and White Shiraz grapes grown in the Hunter Valley. The grapes were left out for considerable time at the end of the vintage to obtain the maximum sugar level. The sugar laden juice was then allowed to ferment slowly until the fermentation was halted at approximately 9.5% sugar. The base material for this wine was vintaged in 1972 and has been matured in new Oak hogsheads for three years. This was blended with wine from the 1975 vintage to increase both the freshness and lusciousness of the final blend. I believe this is a fine dessert wine and one that will improve with proper cellar aging. Murray D. Tyrrell. Label reads: “Vintage Tawny Port. Australian Wine. A very old Tawny Port, vintaged from selected Shiraz, Carignan and Mataro grapes, grown in one of the oldest vineyards in the Barossa Valley. It is a vintage wine and, therefore, only the best years are reserved for this Tawny Port. The grapes are allowed to reach full maturity, thus ensuring a wine rich and luscious in character, and together with many years of maturation in small oak casks, it finally develops into a Tawny Port with the desirable soft, rich and nutty characteristics, for which it is so renowned. The earlier vintages of Orlando Vintage Tawny Port have been most successful prize winners both in Overseas and Australian Wine Shows, and the quality of this wine has convinced the winemaker that it will also claim the successes of the earlier vintages.” --The insignia on this label was owned by G. This birthday invite design is obviously dedicated to my niece, Alina, who is turning one this June. Her mom wanted the invite to be centered around a cupcake with the #1 on top of it along with a few other elements – 2 main colors (magenta & green turquoise), polka dots, and somehow to incorporate the outdoors since the event is at a park.
This is a lot of elements for a 1-sided invite, but I think I accomplished all the necessities while still keeping a cute, girlie theme. As you can see, I went all out with the polka dots all in various sizes from the #1 candle to the bold patterned background. The main focus is on the cupcake and polka dots, and I didn't want to add too much more without over designing, or cluttering the space with another huge element to represent the outdoors. Instead, I added a cute little pink ladybug flying around the space to suggest the outdoor environment. I think that was the extra little icing on the cupcake. :)

I want to hold the hand inside you
I want to take a breath that's true
I look to you and I see nothing
I look to you to see the truth
You live your life
You go in shadows
I look to you and I see nothing
I look to you to see the truth
Fade into you
Strange you never knew
Fade into you
I think it's strange you never knew
A stranger's light comes on slowly
A stranger's heart without a home
You put your hands into your head
And then smiles cover your heart
Fade into you
Strange you never knew
Fade into you
I think it's strange you never knew
Fade into you

Label reads: “Winemaker’s selection. Vintage 1974 vat 9. Tyrrell’s. Hunter River. Dry Red. Estate bottled. Tyrrell’s Vineyards PTY LTD., Pokolbin N.S.W. Produce of Australia. Murray D. Tyrrell Winemaker. The Red wines produce in 1974 are typical of those from wet cloudy years which are sometimes experienced in the Hunter. The wines generally have a more intense fruit character and are lighter in body than those of the hot years. Our oldest vines from the red clay soil of our eight acre vineyard were picked during early vintage to make this wine. It shows good red, purple colour, strong fruit flavour and a firm slightly astringent finish. I believe this will develop into a true Hunter style and will continue to improve after 3-4 years bottle aging. 738ml” --Please contact us if you are the subject of the image, or know the subject of the image, and have cultural or other reservations about the image being displayed on this website and would like to discuss this with us.--This item can be used for study and personal research purposes. Made from 100% Cabernet grapes grown on the Weinkeller Vineyard. The process of Carbonic Maceration involves the fermentation of all undamaged berries and has been used on only a few occasions in Australia. The technique results in a wine giving maximum fruit and softness available. The wine shows strong fruit on the nose and the palate and is well balanced with tannin and acid on the finish. I believe this to be a classic wine of the style and one that has all the qualities for long aging in the bottle. 750ml.
