Colors: Green, White + Gray
I had an itch for a summer, emerald green color palette after I saw the Carolina Herrera's white gown called "Constance". The dramatic, wavy ruffles on the dress reminded me of the Peony's chunky white petals (on the second board, lower-right corner). Then I saw the dark green stem against the white Peony and came up with the perfect color combo – green, white and a soft grey. It's a nice combination for a spring wedding – fresh, crisp and clean.
I always love a nice, tailored grey suit with a nice tie, like the one above in green for the groom and his groomsmen. And for the reception table decor, only use fresh live plants like green grass, moss, herbs and even live plant terrariums.

Colors: Poppy Red, Orange + Mandarin Yellow
An intense burst of oranges + reds in this inspiration board. I was inspired by Reem Acra's silk floral gown from the 2010 spring season. This particular wedding I see it set in a spring garden setting. An effortless, beautiful bride with her hair gathered into an easy pony tail with a red-orange poppy flower accent. Fun, matching colored flats for the bride and her bridesmaids in stylish cocktail-length dresses. The groom and groomsmen in beige cotton suits with coordinating bow or skinny ties.
A simple, but delish menu of spring greens, caprese salad, pasta and warm baked bread. And it is accompanied with refreshing drinks like fresh squeezed lemonade, Italian sodas and theme-colored cocktails. :) As for decor, glowing paper lanterns that blow in the night breeze, twinkle lights wrapped around the local trees, and sunburst orange flowers contrasted against clean white, crisp linens.

Label reads: “Vintage 1979 vat 7. Tyrrell’s. Hunter River. Dry Red. Estate bottled. Tyrrell’s Vineyards PTY LTD., Pokolbin N.S.W. Produce of Australia. Murray D. Tyrrell Winemaker. This wine was made from Hermitage grapes grown on the sandy soils of our Long Flat Vineyard. It was picked during mid-vintage, open fermented and then matured in old 500 gallon French Oak casks until bottled. It is a medium bodied wine with soft lifted fruit on both the bouquet and palate which is balanced by a clean acid finish. I believe this wine is more suited for short term cellaring and that it will continue to soften and develop for the next 3-4yeards. 370ml.”

For Yellow Duck PR, the stacked words in all caps is the actual logo of the company. The "Beak" face is the brand icon, and it can be seen as part of the signature logo or separate.
In the business card design, I wanted to literally bring the "Beak" to life. It's a one-folded business card with a die-cut along the beak's edge which allows the user to open the mouth and fold the card over to conceal the business card content.

Label reads: “Winemaker’s Selection. Vintage 1978 vat 11. Tyrrell’s. Hunter River. Dry Red. Estate bottled. Tyrrell’s Vineyards PTY LTD., Pokolbin N.S.W. Produce of Australia. Murray D. Tyrrell Winemaker. This wine was made from Hermitage grapes from our old four and eight acre vineyards, picked in perfect condition and slightly riper than Vat 9. It was matured only in old French Oak Casks and is a big full bodied wine showing rich ripe fruit character, deep colours and a firm well balanced acid and tannin finish. It shows distinctive earthy Hunter character on the nose and a comparatively high alcohol level. I believe this to be a great wine that will mature into a soft old Hunter style and will require long cellar aging. 750ml.” --Please contact us if you are the subject of the image, or know the subject of the image, and have cultural or other reservations about the image being displayed on this website and would like to discuss this with us.--This item can be used for study and personal research purposes. Identity I designed for a company that makes software for financial planning. I designed the logo to be a play on the name so that it would be something that would catch the eye. Also I used binary code for the trunk of the tree since binary is one of the basic codes for writing software. I also used binary code as a screen back to liven up the letterhead. I chose a serif font because I wanted to show that the company is not just fun and that they are serious about their work.

Label reads:"FIRESTICK Firestick is inspired by one of nature's most dramatic night-time performances the animated dance of lightning strikes or 'sticks of fire' across the vast South Australian landscape when two opposing storm fronts clash. Grown at Mount Compass and Langhorne Creek part of the Adelaide region on South Australia's Fleurieu peninsula the Chardonnay grapes for this wine thrive due to the long growing season, mild temperatures and fertile soils developing full intense fruit flavour. Matured for a short period in French oak this wine shows abundant varietal flavours of melons and figs underlined by citrus tones, all neatly balanced by hints of vanilla oak. The mother-to-be wanted it to be very spa and zen-like. She was starting her morning at the spa with massages, and then the baby shower was being held in the afternoon. Plus, this was her second baby shower with a more intimate group of friends.
For this zen-like invite design, I went with a more simplistic and clean color palette with shades of green representing life and a stone grey symbolic of earth. On the cover is an illustration of Buddha in a relaxed, meditative pose sitting in a Japanese rock garden surrounded by succulent plants. The typography treatment is very clean and graphic pulling in strong key words that sound calming, "relax. nourish. and celebrate."

The 1975 vintage in the Hunter Valley has produced Red wines of outstanding quality similar to those of the now classic 1965 vintage. This wine has been made from Cabernet and Shiraz grapes grown in the Hunter Valley. The grapes were blended 50-50 at the time of crushing. A big soft Hunter style that shows a distinctive “earthy“ character and full soft flavour. This wine has a predominately Shiraz character, but has good fruit lift and more fullness on the palate from the Cabernet. This wine will mature fairly rapidly in the bottle. We recommend 2-3 years of bottle aging for the wine to be at its optimum for drinking.

I wish I could say this logo + branding project was a breeze, however, it had its challenges in for me. I definitely haven't played in the realm of masculine and sporty in my repertoire of design work, but I was ready for the challenge. I researched the heck out of NBA and sports-like logos before I began working on the drawing board. Logo mandatories: established, sophisticated, graphic, masculine and sports-like influence.
The face of CPT is a bold, typographic treatment of the name stacked on one another. The word "performance" highlighted in red reminds me of those "physical education t-shirts" that students wore back in the day during school practice, and it's perfect for Cedric's business, but definitely more elevated and polished in terms of design. I warped the typeface to created this bold stamp-like structure and to activate the visual space vs. the standard horizontal arrangement. I especially love the Willis Tower "aka Sears" nuance that I incorporated into the "i" of Chicago. It's those little details that make a logo memorable.
For the printing + paper choice, we went pretty simple. There was a specific budget that had to be maintained. 2-color offset on uncoated 100# cover paper. Although, we didn't do any raising or debossing techniques to the paper, the end product still stands out, because the design is strong. When it comes down to it, if you have a well-designed product, it will shine no matter what. You don't have to have the million dollar budget to get a good product. Invest where it matters. In this case, the client invested in a logo that they love, and it will grow with them over the years as they build their business. Down the road, when the business is good, they can invest further in the specialty printing nuances that will make the card "pop" even more.

Label reads: “The 1977 Vintage has produced White wines with full rich fruit character and the soft acid finish of the traditional Hunter White styles. This wine was made from Pinot Chardonnay grapes grown on our Short Flat vineyard. The juice was fermented cold in old German Oak casks and then transferred to new French Oak hogsheads until bottling. The use of small Oak has added flavour and complexity and has assisted in making a wine of the classic White Burgundy style. This vintage the grapes were subject to extremities of weather conditions with hot, dry growing and ripening period and heavy rain during vintage. The Semillon grapes for this wine were picked at full maturity and in good condition from the old vines on our Short Flat vineyard. The juice was fermented cold in old German Oak casks and bottled in June, 1977 to produce a wine with great fruit flavour on the palate, a lifted bouquet and crisp acid finish. I was trying not to do the typical gender, specific baby shower invite with baby powder blues for a boy and light pinks for a girl. Plus, this shower was co-ed, and I wanted it to appeal to everyone.
In this first shower, I went with a colorful palette that leaned to be more feminine with the hot magenta hue since my friend was having a baby girl. And for her custom invite, I used this fun baby rhyme that we once heard as children – (insert a girl's name) and (insert a boy's name) sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G, First comes love , Then comes marriage, Then comes (insert a girl's name) with a baby carriage. Obviously, I modified the rhyme to be more fitting for the invite.
