I left Jokulsarlon in the late morning and made many stops along the way to Vik, 200 km distance.
I arrived at Vik on time to see beautiful sunset moment.

Vik is from Lithuania. She moved to London a few years back, and is currently finishing her Masters in Global Ethics. Vik is a heavy metal fan, enjoying going to concerts, as well as fitness.
On a windy day in June, we visited Vik Beach in the late evening. The waves spletted out on the rocks. The long exposure time with a small stopper filter gave a cloudy effect. I changed this photos to black and white to give an extra dimension to the dynamic of the waves.
In this photo of Vik, Iceland, you can see the main church there as well as the famous Black Sand Beach towards the mountain in the background.
Hull City Council was supported by the British and Icelandic governments, private sector companies in Hull, and the British Embassy in Iceland to commission two artworks.
The first, called Voyage, gazes across the Humber from Victoria Pier. Its eyes follow the direction Hull trawlers would take on their way to Iceland. The sculpture is made from brass on a basalt rock plinth, and was unveiled by Icelandic President Olafur Ragnar Grimsson.
The second, called For, faces the wind and rain-buffeted Icelandic coastline, at a small community called Vik. It looks across the cold north Atlantic towards Hull.
I arrived in Vík just as the sun was going down. This is the beautiful black sandy beach with the tide going out.

Vík í Mýrdal in Iceland. A remarkable nearby feature is the beautiful black beach with the Reynisdrangar, black basalt columns sculpted by the sea. It's too an ornithological reserve with many species of birds in particular the most famous : the puffins.
